Title: The Arena Returns!

The legendary Arena is returning to Battleground!

Beginning in February, every Sunday at 1:00 PM, there will be a throwdown to find out who can create the best (or luckiest) 4th edition player character.

The format will be a Swiss style tournament:  A series of 1v1 matchs where the winners of each round play other winners and the people that lost play other people that lost.  Players are invited to fight in each and every round of the event, whether they win or lose.

Entrance fee is $5.00 and prizes will be awarded to the top placers.


Specific rules for each event will be posted weekly on this message board. To kick off the first event (Feb 7th), you are invited to create a 1st level D&D character using any of the rules from the official 4th edition Player's Handbook ONLY.


Don't miss your chance to prove that you are the best at character optimization!

All participants must arrive with characters already made.

wait so none of the power books are allowed? only the phb?

PHB only is the rule for the first event. I believe each event will be different giving people the chance to try out different things

So say i made a rogue, id eventually be able to use mp1 and 2 but just not for 1st event? ok ill try this out sounds pretty fun

Not that anyone uses it but...you may want to put this on your calendar.

You will be able to create a new character each and every week. 

The week to week events may or may not have much to do with each other.  Week one is a Level 1 PC from the PHB only and there are no special rules.  Week two MIGHT be something like... Level 7, Dwarf only, Arcane power source only, no Daily powers, all movement reduced by 3 squares to a minimum of 1 type of thing....  All very different.

The above example is extreme and not likely to ever happen.
