Title: Battletech
Post by: cryptoron on September 18, 2010, 06:21:42 PM
I got the Solaris Skunk Werks up and running on my Mac!  YAY!
So, I was wondering if anyone was interested in a Mech on Mech, or perhaps Lance on Lance battle.  I'm not sure about how to balance it, perhaps BV?

weight works fine for mech on mech, me and earl always went for the "i got a new shiny and wanna try it out"  VS  "look what i did on mech builder i wanna try it out"

speaking of mechbuilder... I'm putting together the CDA-3M cicada, but the heat sinks (10 Double) do not show up on the printed out sheet under the critical table. I noticed that sometimes they don't is there a reason for that?

"All fusion engines come 10 ten heat sinks of the type used by the 'Mech (Clan or IS, double or single). A number of heat sinks equal to the 'Mech's engine rating divided by 25 are integral to the engine and don't need to be allocated critical slots, though they do take up tonnage if they bring the total to more than 10."

I now have 12 Mechs, and am looking for a fight.  I'm thinking of making my own Mercenary Company called: Interstellar Executive Solutions, or I.E.S. for short.
(Based on a real life Mercenary Company called Executive Outcomes whose name I thought was cool in that it seemed really like a normal company, with guns)
I am free Thursday 1/26/12.

Tuesday would be a good day for me, or Friday whichever is better for you. But any idea on the BV/Tonnage of your unit?

For Friday.
12 Mechs, 3 lances of 4 each.  Assuming skills of 4/4 total BV is 18,314.

So we'll do 4/4 skil across the board then roll when we meet at vet or so experience? I'll probably end. yp with a Nova, star(5) of mechs and a star(5 squads) of elementals. Unless you dont want to face battle armor.

cool I've met the bv even with the force multiplier for you 1.033( cause you end up having two more units than me). So we should be good.

Was there any specific mission you wanted to run through?

Nothing Specific, is there one you've been interested in doing?

So, just curious, what year would you say that battle happened?  Some of the timelines online put a restart of Ghost Bear/ Draconis Combine aggression at about 3063.  I'm thinking of making a faux news report for it and maybe posting it on Facebook.

Hey Earl,
So we're battling again on the 27th, do you still want it to be a company sized battle or something smaller?

That works cause i'll either do clan or word of blake.

I did some modification of my Company, I upgraded the Jager Mech to the "field refit" version from 3050, the one the 2 gauss rifles in stead of all the auto-cannons.  I am also using an upgraded Cicada with the jump jets (same as the one I used in the campaign, but swapping out the Beagle Active Probe and Medium laser for a Medium pulse.  The total BV with 4/4 pilot skills is 19,588.
