RULES FOR TANKSGIVING

Rule Books:
The Warhammer 40,000 Fifth Edition Rules will be used.

The following is a list of legal army choices:
Codex: Black Templars
Codex: Blood Angels
Codex: Chaos Daemons
Codex: Chaos Space Marines
Codex: Daemonhunters
Codex: Dark Angels
Codex: Dark Eldar
Codex: Eldar
Codex: Imperial Guard
Codex: Necrons
Codex: Orks
Codex: Space Marines
Codex: Space Wolves
Codex: Tau
Kroot Mercenaries
Codex: Tyranids
Codex: Witchhunters

MODELS AND POINTS:

1. Each player must bring a tank.  Any tank will do.  ANY tank.  No point limit.

2. Super heavies are allowed

3. All models must follow “What You See Is What You Get” (WYSIWYG). All
weapons, war gear, and so forth must be represented on the model.

4. Forge World Imperial Armor units may be used.

HOW TANKSGIVING WORKS:

Objective:  Kill tanks.

At the end of the event the player with the most points wins.

The event will be run as a "free for all" with each player fighting for himself on the same table.

Players will have 60 seconds to resolve their turn.  Don't think, just kill.

• Scoring System:

Immobilized enemy vehicle  -  1pt
Killed enemy Vehicle  -  2pts
Killed enemy vehicle by ramming  -  3pts
Killed enemy Super Heavy  -  5pts

• Upgrade Rolls:

Obviously Baneblades and Land raiders and other large vehicles will have a
distinct advantage in this game so to balance things out cheaper vehicles get
to roll on the upgrade table before battle commences. Vehicles under 150pts
get 2 rolls on the table; vehicles 151-210pts get one roll. Vehicles 211 pts or
more get nothing.

• Upgrade Table Roll D6

1  -  Targeting Matrix (+1 BS)
2  -  Gyroscopic Stabilizers (Veh. Counts as moving 6” less for shooting purposes.)
3  -  Super Shot. (D3 shots at S10)
4  -  Safety Harness (Ignore Shaken and Stunned Results)
5  -  Venerable ( may make enemy reroll on Damage Table)
6  -  Ablative Armor (+1 side, front, rear Armor to a max 14)

Players may "trade down" on this chart.  Example:  If you roll a 5 you can choose to take result 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5.

• The game will be played on a 4' x 6' board.

• Each player deploys their vehicle with its rear touching a table edge.

• Players will roll randomly to determine deployment.  Highest roll will place last and go first.  Players will take their turn in a clockwise order starting with player who rolled highest.

• When your vehicle is destroyed it is removed from the table and then can come on at the start of the next player’s turn from any board edge.

The Fifth Edition Rulebook will be in use for all games and will be the definitive guide
for all rules.

What You Need to Bring with You:
-Your (hopefully painted) tank
-A copy of the EXACT rules governing your tank
-Rulebooks and any additional books you need
-Pen and paper
-Dice and templates
-Tape measure

Awards:  The winner of the event will be given a non-super heavy tank of their choice.

Please post any questions or comments here.

Edit:  My mistake...  Didn't realize you were allowing Super Heavies until I just reread the OP.  Now I have another use for my Baneblade!  ;)

If I don't have family stuff to do, I'll be there.  It's a reason to paint up the mantank- a plague reaper.

Count me in! Finally get to use my LAnd Raider Terminus for the first time. If anyone really needs a tank for the event and can't afford one or doesn't have the time to build one, let me know and I can bring extras for anyone to use. Just send a PM.

This guy.

We should both play, bring grot tanks, and have a stupid long game.

Question:  If a Super Heavy tank explodes with the Apocalyptic Explosion, and destroys/damages another tank in that process, who gets credit for it?  The person who shot and destroyed the Super Heavy, or the person operating the Super Heavy?

Figured this question would pop up sooner or later....  :P

Just so we don't have rules issues, if I have a fast skimmer, and I have the #2 special ability, where I count as moving 6" less for shooting is concerned, could I do the following?

Move flat out, only 18", and still fire 1 weapon? Since for shooting I would only count as moving 12"?

I might not be able to play, but I figured I'd pose this loophole to the masses. :)

If so, fast skimmer tanks can have a permanent 4+ cover save, but can only fire 1 weapon...

True, but against a Str D weapon, it'd be easy pickin's, since it'll get Wrecked on a 3+.

Alright, how about this, lol.

An eldar tank with holo-fields- forces enemy to roll 2 dice for damage and take the lowest result.

Combined with the re-roll special ability?

Do they re-roll both?

If you declare moving Flat Out, then you can not shoot per the Moving Flat Out rule.

Remember, 60 second turns yo!

We can play 60 second turns till the cows come home, but it won't change a thing if our tanks fail miserably at hurting each other.

 Yeah, what Steve said.

I didn't realize moving flat out was its own rule.

I suppose there's no reason you can't show up late.  I'm sure it won't get started exactly on time and setup will likely take a little while.

There is no real time limit and I don't know how long I think each round will take.  The Wednesday before TG is typically a VERY late night, but who knows.....

Too bad this doesn't have a data sheet or is even official yet... Easy enough to build yourself at the moment and would devestate a tank granted it could get close enough. I like the newer design of the actual structure of the land raider. I wonder if it will hit shelves in June along with the spearhead campaign in the making...

Add one more to the torny. I got my little brother Billy coming as well. Seems he is taking a liking to Warhammer 40K and is going to start an army; but  he is torn between Orcs and Imperial Guard. So all you orc and IG players do your worst to convince him that one race is superior over the other.

As a starting gift to the little bro, I got hims a baneblade for tanksgiving and for a big item to field in the mega battle, and offered to convert it to a skullhamma if he decides orc or to keep it as is for IG.

"Orks never lose a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fightin so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"
It's really a question of philosophies. Orks as we can see do not care.

As an Imperial guard officer is taught. It's all about mind over matter, and as he progresses through his career this will become ever more easier and effective for him. Mind over matter always wins.
Because I don't mind, and you don't matter...

simple really.

Yeah right, when the "fun tank rule" came out to 'You Now Control Your Opponent's Tank to the Left", Dave gave me a shot up vindicator that was immobilized and without any weapon systems left operational (a.k.a. Special wep and demo cannon). So I popped smoke and called it a turn as my tank got crew stunned.

Thanks Dave... Thanks
