Release for April it has been confirmed.
This is great news cant wait to see the mini's.
-
Thunder wolves not powerful enough for you?
-
Shhh... the children are sleeping.
I love the fluff of the Grey Knights and feel the need to paint them.
-
If they aren't super hurf - durf then I'll probably start a new army. Here is hoping they aren't the new Space Wolves (no offense).
-
Is it at all possible they've retained their ability to be used with other marine armies or take stuff from the other imperium books? I'd like to start a black Templar army with them instead of neophytes. (this is my idea nobody take it!) ;D
-
No that is about 98% confirmed GK will no longer be able to be used as allies.
-
That's too bad -- Fluffwise, I really like the way they showed how Grey Knights interact with other armies.
I also liked the old chaos codex better too

thorn in my side... Imagine all the new cheese with prefered enemy...
There might be a chance they just pit the units they could take into their codex now. But that won't help my Templars out of the box
-
I dont know what you just said Dave, but your special...
-
NOOOO *Rage* Necron Codex gets pushed back more
-
I dont know what you just said Dave, but your special...
before when BT could take grey knights, they would have prefered enemy from the oath Accept any challenge no matter the odds. that couldve been awesome with the new grey knights codex.
being special is my specialty ;D
Id like to see what the monster special character is for the new codex. theres been njarl, mephiston, vect, who knows what the inquisition is going to bring...
-
I will be running a Doubles tournament on the day of release, btw. :)
There's something about having 60 40k players in the store the day an army comes out that effects the bottom line.
-
D: where is my tau codex.
-
I wouldn't count on a Tau codex any time soon. ;)
-
I cannot wait for for the Demonhunters I almost am considering making another Imperial army....
Just as a side not for ya Skavenknight so you don't buy the models for nothing. Accept the challenge only gives preferred enemy to Black Templar models that aren't Neophytes. Also, technically Black Templar can't even take them because they wield "Nemesis force weapons". Anything with Psychic powers/force weapons aren't allows to ally into the army. But because at the grey knight level they don't get the "force weapon" rule most people are cool with it.
I have used them myself, they are fun.
-
Because what 40k needs are more armies specifically designed to beat up on Chaos. ::)

you need to read the Templar codex again. It says any except grey knights. And even without the vow it's better that initiates by a long shot
-
Chase your my hero!! I will so be making a GK army. I cant wait ti see the new models. Wouldnt mind getting my hand on some old ones as well.
-
I dont like that they nixed allies. Grey Knights are supposed to be a very rare site. You see them in units if at all not entire companies.
-
Rumor is that allies are still there in a fashion. It was said if you bought a bunch of storm troopers you will still be able to use them as an army. But no way to take marines other than GK's
It looks like it will be possible to field a GK army without a single Grey Knight in it
-
Moar power armor.

What does this mean, exactly?
-
There are rumors that there is an inquisitor hq choice that makes stormtroopers and some henchmen troops.
-
For those interested I have some old GK metal models that I will be willing to trade for store credit. They are unpainted and in good order. (10 Grey Knight Marines, 15 GK terminators)
-
Exactly what Ian said.
Rumor is that henchman can normally only taken in conjunction with inquisitor's in any shape or form. There place on the force org is unknown. But a certain inquisitor is apparently suppose to make them count as troops. So a non-GK GK army is possible.

Hope you're ordering a lot of stuff.

Blasphemy! :P From what I'm hearing about the rumors for codexes this year (which as of right now is on par with DE and GK) we're supposed to start hearing about a Tau codex in quarter 4 of this year. As I heard it it was supposed to go DE, GK, Necrons, Tau and then some tenuous rumors of Eldar. But, who knows how true they are.
It does seem kinda strange that the super elite and rare grey knights will be fielded en masse when their new codex comes out. I guess we'll have to see how they handle it.
-
Most likely the point costs will not change as much and there will not be a mass of anything. They will most likely retain there elite small army size to a degree.
-
codexs go like power armor, xeno, power armor, xeno.
if tau are after necrons then i dont know anymore

You are wise beyond your years, Ed.

ok I am relived that the Inquisition still is around. Grey Knights operate in kill teams in the fluff its rare to see a company of them.
