with only about 3 months till the megabattle I find myself faced with the question, Blood Angels OR Thousend Sons? Two years ago I played on the side of order and this past year chaos so now I am faced with the choice continue to jump back and forth or continue down the path of not niceness.
So anyone have any prefrences?, comments, random insults?

Your mother was a hamster!

Go with whichever army you think you'll have the most fun playing. And if you still can't decide, go with the army that you think you'll enjoy seeing the most on the table top.
Honestly, that's the best advice I can give.
Oh yeah, and your father smells of elder berries! :P

Chaos is by far the more attractive team both physically and play style wise.

I have to agree with Rich, I walked by a mirror early and well let me tell you. I'm not gay but as good looking as I am, I would convert for myself.
;p
-
Sigh. I'm like the only one who likes playing order.
-
I'll be on the order side too. Don't worry.
-
If you can't decide, roll off. You're playing 40k, remember?
-
All I have to say is did you have more fun on the opposite side of the orks or playing next to them? Answer there. Next question please.

Don't worry, Steve. It will all work out.

How come when I pick up Lamenters, everyone seems to go BA. Seriously, I know I'm handsome but this is ridiculous.

We've been over this. My howling griffins have an under par paint job and they have lots of damaged veichles as well as no one to lead them. I just don't have the drive to fix and repaint an almost full company. If I were to get help doing this ill consider it.
-
Don't worry, Ariel Ventris can order Flounder there to help you. Ariel has aquaman powers right??
-
......sigh
-
It shouldn't matter, but..If I get a storrmraven, or two does anyone really care if I use it?I know its Blood Angels and I play Dark Angels, but would it really matter its all Space Marines.I'm just asking in case someone has a bug about it.
-
Supposedly all marine chapters will have access to it by the summer from the rumors I hear.
-
Technically, I wouldn't matter since you can use them in conjunction with the allies matrix. Its like usings a lander raider variant from one chapter with another.
As for composition and groaning of players..... Meh, tell them to suck it up and throw down. If no one likes it they can pen the armor and remove it from play
;)

I think this is a change. Last year if a player was using two codices, troops from one couldn't use the other's transports. Thus we had the controversy about inquisition stuff riding in Valkyrie.
Not a big deal, don't really care, but I don't know if we want fire warriors riding in wave serpents.
-
The inquisition thing for the last time was completely legal. The old gray knight codex allowed the army to take new imperial guard units and their dedicated transports. Now maybe I'm missing the point but in the rules that I have been using for I think its like 2 years now, that was fine.
Allow me to spell it out for ya. The inquisitor lord is allowed to join a unit since he is an indepentant character, for a definition check the rule book I forget the page. In the gray knight codex you can take imperial guard units. So, Doug took an imperial guard unit loaded it in a dedicated transport they are allowed to take (the valkyrie) and had the inquisitor join them.
Seriously, sounds like day one stuff to me, but not everyone gets its to easy I guess.
As for multiple armies using each others transports? I seriously am drawing a blank on this one, I know we were not allowing players to get into other players transports and I don't think anyone feilded and army where they had transports to use this way but that may have been an offical ruling that came about from some situation I did not know about.
-
Kevin is right. The issue of a player with 2 armies and a unit using another army's transport never came up. I think in that scenario units from army A can use only non dedicated transports from army B. Ie: imperial guard riding in a land raider. Land raiders can be used as a non dedicated transport. I may be wrong on the house ruling on this matter.
-
I can't remember if it came up at all. I think this is because we discourage people taking two different armies to the Megabattle. I guess the exception to this is the Baneblade that most people tack on to their list.
Let's avoid mixing armies this year. If it does have to happen, I think they should be required to use their own transports and own Codex, just like how the teams work in a doubles tournament.
This is a perfect example of a Megabattle related can of worms. Saying yes to something like this sets a precedent that I really want to avoid. I'll end up with Ghazghkull in a CSM drop pod at the end of the day.

Since (from what I'm told) we're having several tables to play on, can we have a table where we can do this?
-
So, if a chaos player took renegades and marines, could the marines ride in a stormlord the player brought? If so, could the renegade guardsmen use it as well?

I remember it being explicit. If one was working out of two codices, no interaction was allowed between the two armies. There were exceptions for forces that could be combined in ordinary 40K games, such as Inquisition and Kroot. It wasn't just Baneblades that were allowed to be attached to codex forces. Chaos superheavies were allowed to join Chaos, Demon or Traitor Guard forces, while Imperial superheavies were allowed to join any Imperial force. If such superheavies could carry troops, they could carry the troops from the player's army. (I remember an approval being given for traitor guard in a plague tower.)
Let's avoid mixing armies this year. If it does have to happen, I think they should be required to use their own transports and own Codex, just like how the teams work in a doubles tournament.

I'm all in favor of keeping it simple.

I don't recall this coming up last year.
-
One of the only things I can think of that came up was my Inquisitor along side my Dark Angels. He and his storm troopers used the Valkyrie (which I guess I can't now.Grr!) He couldn't use anything else, nor any other unit use the Valkyrie. The Special Character had some kind of rule to him about transports ,but other than that nothing else could use stuff, even if same player and list.

Doug you said GK in the Valk. Barring the GK dex preventing it, an inquisitor can join storm troopers in a Valk. As for the mixing, straight out of the Apoc book alot of the data sheets are interchangeable between traitor and loyalist marines. This never came up last year because of the don't be a douche rule.
