Title: Bill's Retribution "Plog?"

So, this is my very first Warmachine adventure or possibly misadventure so I wanted to log my progress hobby-wise. I did a test model using the studio scheme and while it came out great it was just way to clean for the Warmachine world. I just imagine it being a little grittier. So I reversed the scheme and it remained bright since they are elves but still gritty. This is definitely a WIP pic, I have lots more to do but you get the idea. I also ordered some bases which I am super excited about, this is a small company with great prices, hopefully the quality is nice when they get here:

Bill, I like the basic idea here and dumping the white studio scheme in favor of metallics. What further steps do you have planned? Right now it just looks like you need to work in some more colors to break up that dominant silver-ish looking color you've got on all the plating. Maybe get a dark color on the sword handle, or maybe do some of the plates another color? Since their shoulder and leg armor is basically three layers you could maybe change the color of one of them.

I do like that you want to keep them grim and business-like. These elves have a bit of an edge to them.

Since this post I have painted the right shoulder pad white and did a further highlight on the silver. Yeah I am going to go black on the handle and whatnot.

Finally had a chance to get some work done. Finished a Phoenix as well but could not get a good pic. Sorry about the rotated pic. I took it on my iPhone.

Did you just paint the water?  It looks like you used that "water effect" stuff.

I used the realistic water from woodland scenics. I am having trouble with the stuff shrinking too much and making little sink holes but I am getting the hang of it.

I think I've told you before, but the metallics on the Ret models look amazing. I really love the white shoulderpad, too. Awesome contrast.

Are you going to be painting your myrmidons the same way?
