RULES OVERVIEW FOR WARMACHINE / HORDES STEAMROLLER TOURNAMENT
The comprehensive rules and scenario packet can be found here. (http://farfaraway.org/downloads/SR2012_BETA_1_DEC.pdf)
Rule Books:
The Warmachine Prime MkII and Hordes Primal MkII Rules will be used.
The following is a list of legal army choices:
Cygnar
The Protectorate of Menoth
Khador
Cryx
Retribution of Scyrah
Mercenaries
Trollbloods
Circle Orboros
Skorne
Legion of Everblight
Minions
MODELS AND POINTS:
Each player must bring an army consisting of 50 points (and no fewer than 48 points). Each player is allowed to use one of the two 50 point lists they've chosen in each game they play.
HOW THE TOURNAMENT WORKS:
• Competitors will participate in a number of games over the course of the day based on attendance (probably 4, hopefully 5). In each game, you will play a scenario and record the outcome of the battle on your Tournament Record Sheet. Each round you will play a different opponent.
• Each round will last ~100 minutes.
• Each player turn will last a maximum of 10 minutes.
• Each player will have one 5 minute turn extension to use each game.
• In the first round, players will be matched up randomly. After the first round, players will be
matched up according to current rankings in the tournament (e.g., the player in first place will
play the player in second place and so on). We will try our best not to pair players that come to the event together in the first round. We will also try not to pair the same faction against itself if at all possible. If a player receives a BYE they will be awarded 1 TP and 0 CP's in accordance with the rules.
• You will not play the same person twice.
• The pairings for each round will be announced as soon as they are determined. Please be sure to
arrive at your table ready to play right away. We ask that each player be conscious of the
time and that you play at a regular and steady pace to complete the game. Anyone found slow
playing or deliberately stalling for any reason will be penalized.
• Each game will be played on a 4' x 4' board.
• Players will receive Tournament Record Sheets at the beginning of each round. Each results sheet must be filled in properly to ensure that match-ups and point totals are correct. Once Record Sheets are completed they are to be turned in at the counter so the scores can be entered into the computer.
The scenario packet can be found here. (http://farfaraway.org/downloads/SR2012_BETA_1_DEC.pdf)

Are we doing SR12? if so are we not doing 10 minute turns and not 12? Or are we doing Death clock seeing as Temple con is using Death clock?
-
So two Storm Striders?
-
The scenario link is to the most current version of SR2012. We will be using the most current version of those rules for the event.
I believe the turn length in the packet is 10 minutes at 50 points.
We are not planning to use Death Clock, for better or worse.
-
Just play circle Danny, no issues at 10 min.
Once again, I am away for a SR!
-
I am fastest with Cryx. Though I might bring me some pKaya and eKrueger.
-
Let's see how fast I can activate the undead horde. I feel that there will be much running in my Mechana Thralls future, and little else.
-
Chase,
Check and see if you are using SR2011 or SR2012 which are still in BETA so I am assuming you are going to use SR2011.
If you are using SR2012 BETA, right now there is a Flank scenario that will require everyone to bring an extra 10 points. You should let people know about that sooner than later. Of coarse another way to handle that is to just not play a Flank scenario in SR2012 BETA.
hope that helps
-
We are using the SR2012 rules and scenarios. They are linked to twice in the event post.
I can promise that I won't be choosing a scenario that will require people to bring 10 extra points.
Thanks for the heads up! :)

Chase what are the store rules on models that are converted , because my dog chewed the face off one of my models called wrong eye. http://privateerpress.com/hordes/gallery/minions/solos/wrongeye-snapjaw
the gator on the left. I have an extra http://privateerpress.com/hordes/gallery/minions/warlocks/bloody-barnabas and i wanted to know if i converted it if that would be cool.
-
I have no plans to bust peoples balls about conversions so long as they are cool looking, accurate, and obviously represent what they're supposed to be.
-
I will be visiting in-laws this weekend... Not. As. Fun.
-
Ok cool, I'll do my best. I'm going to come in today to sign up.
-
Any idea how late this will run? 8, 9 pm?
-
Doubt it will go that late, although I suppose it depends on how many rounds go to time...

Thanks for a great event everyone. I had a blast and played 2 really great games against some great opponents. Even though the last game was too short for my liking, it was my own damn fault for not reading my opponents feat card closer and he was a great guy too. Had a lot of fun, learned more about the day, and can't wait for the next one.
