let's say someone casts flame cage on my unit and i use a scroll of shielding. i obviously get the 4+ ward against the initial D6 S4 hits but do i get it against the S4 hit per model if i move in a subsequent phase?
-
Now i am no expert but scrolls are usually one shot deals... so I am thinking it would only affect the first round in which it was cast.
-
When i read it, it says it is granted a 4+ save against ANY WOUNDS caused by the spell. I would play it just as, no matter what turn or phase its spills into. It doesnt state that it ends or only effects one phase or turn

I don't have the wording in front of me, but I would say take a dispel scroll and just take auto no wounds... :P
-
i'll be including a dispell scroll regardless, but i was leaning towards Mark's interpretation. i'm just looking for ways to have an airtight magic defense in my beastmen list. the reliance on 2 main fighting blocks of 40 models means that i'm very vulnerable to certain spells and i'm just loooking for ways to mitigate that.

yeah, as long as that spell is doing wounds, the shielding should be able to prevent damage... no matter how long it stays in play.. otherwise it would be utter suckage imho. doesnt say it ever ends, due to phases or turns. . just when the spell stops
