I finally finished painting my two merc lists. Whens it gonnna be Diego.
-
id buy into this! though, do you HAVE to bring two lists? at 35 points i can make a good shae list and a meh magnus list, but at 50 points i can only do one list. I wouldn't mind playing at a disadvantage. Also, is this going to be at abbington?

Hold your horses buckaroo. I think Ed has finished painting all the pieces for 2 different lists not a tourney to be played using both of them.
It is spelled as Abington* also.
-
Unless its hardcore or highlander you can bring two lists, but you don't have to.
-
I was told there was going to be a SR in Abington in May so I have not spent much time on scheduling one in Plainville.
I will figure this out tomorrow night.
-
i would definitely like for there to be another tournament, the battle box tourney was as lot of fun, and we had a pretty good attendance, there have also been some other people who have been showing up, so i think we would have a pretty good crowd.
-
Chase please look in to a 35-50 SR with deathclocks.
-
Looks like on May 19, we'll be doing a Warmachine/Hordes doubles event. I'll post up the rules when I get home this evening. Short story: 2 people per side. 25pts each.
-
The one weekend next month I couldn't do it. :-\
-
sorry to be repetitive, but is this happening at plainville or abington?
-
Yeah, I can't make the 19th either. :(

50-Point Team Event Tournament
This event follows all the current Steamroller rules (SR2012) except as follows:
Note: Both players on a team play during the same turn, but only one player is allowed to activate models at a time.
1 Lists Required: Players must bring exactly 1 army list.
List Variants
-Each player brings his or her 25-point list to make one 50-point list for the team.
-Character models/units can only appear once in the combined list of the team (i.e., 1 Fenris total in the combined 50-point list).
-Each player gets full FA allotment in their 25 point list (each player can take the same Unit Attachment that is FA 1 if they both have the unit in their respective lists).
-Both players do not need to play the same faction (one player can field Cryx while their teammate fields Cygnar). This is optional, not forced!
-Both players do not need to play the same system (one player can be fielding a Hordes army while their teammate fields a Warmachine army). This is optional, not forced!
-All models on a team are considered friendly, but they retain their original faction.
-If both players on a team play the same faction all models are considered 'friendly faction' model.
-No Theme Forces allowed because the overall army has more than one warcaster/warlock.
Assassin Scoring: If there is no clear winner at the end of a tournament, use the number of ’caster kill wins as the tiebreak condition (followed by Strength of Schedule and then Control Points, if needed).
No Reinforcements: The Reinforcements rule will be removed from all scenarios played at the event.

How do we feel about a Sunday in Plainville?
-
I like the doubles 50 point idea, and yeah, sunday actually works really well for willem and I. This sounds like fun!!!
-
Sorry never a Sunday for me I make way to much money on Sundays
-
Switching to Sunday won't get me there. That weekend is already booked for me.
-
I'm pretty sure Sean plans to run the team event in Abington on the 19th of May.
I am askign how people think about Sundays in general. I can't decide if I want to torture myself and run a SR the day after a 40k event or not. If so, it would be May 27th.

This kid is ballin' on sundays. Damn.

That is correct. The doubles will be in Abington on the 19th. Be there!

ya son 8-10 hours time and a half is where its at.
-
Damn, im not sure willem and i can make it to abbington, ah well, we'll see. Also, Chase, any spoilers as to what point level this steam roller will be at? (personal vote is for 25 to allow some of the new community to play, but i can easily play up to 50 points.)

Ah, I misunderstood. My preference in terms of event day would always be Saturday. For what its worth, as far as Battleground locations go I'd prefer Plainville. Abington is really tough for me since its close to an hour and half from my house.
-
Finally, a SR in Abington. This'll cut my commute my more than half. Now I just gotta con somebody into joining forces with the always-friendly-Cryx...
-
Um... Can I advertise that I am looking for a team mate in here?
-
Yes wait no I mean yes.
-
Chase can we do a 50 point hardcore with deathclocks? This summer.
-
I would love there to be a Tier Tournament. It would need to be 50pts though since a lot of tiers don't fill out too well below that point value.
It could even just be a normal Steam Roller, but with additional prize support exclusive for players running tier armies.
-

Probably not. You and two other random people are the only ones that might play in something like that, even if others want to pretend they would.
-
The next WM/H event we do in Plainville will be a tier event. We haven't done that and it seems pretty cool.
Is there a single link that will show me the tier lists for every caster?
-
it better be chest clocks or battlegounds is so 2011
-
http://www.forwardkommander.com/
This is the best i can find.
choose a system
then a faction
then under that will be a slide down menu that should list the tier lists for armies by name (note, some casters have more than one, select the appropriate one
click create
at the top of the pink box, there will be 4 little medal icons, put your mouse over them, and it will give an over view of the tier. Its not perfect, but its the best i can think of.
-
The last hardcore was awesome Chase, it was like... one of the better Warmachine turnouts. Stop cuddling with all the noobs you used to smite.
Blood, sweat, and tiers was a big want, so was teams, and deathclock/hardcore. Not much else you can do above a steamroller. And little canadian man, 25 points is for, well... let me show you...

PS: Chase, how is the cheeseburger challenge going?
-
Didn't we only get like 8 people for the hardcore... or was that for whatever we ran after it?
The cheeseburger thing is definitely a challenge. If I get it done, you'll be one of the first 10 people to know. It was TWO cheeseburgers right? One in each hand?
-
it was like 8 people for the highlander

Gosh, i wish i could be a big kid like you Goss =(

I don't think there's any place that lists them all online. PP is kind of protective of them. Forward Commander and iBodger contain them but since they're army building software you'd have to construct the list to view the benefits as opposed to simply reading off a list.
I think the strike against the Hardcore (which was only like 6-8 participants) was that it was on the same day as the Highlander. A lot of people seemed interested in one or the other, not both. 6-7 games of Warmachine in a day is arguably too much of a good thing. Besides that, the painting requirement eliminates a number of possible participants right off the bat. I know a number of people who enjoy playing but don't have a painted army to their name.

And she has to look at you. Let the bitch accept it.
there was 8 for the highlander, but there was at least double that for hardcore.

7 after you dropped out.

Deathclock seems to be getting popular. The problem is that you need a chess clock for each table. There doesn't seem to be such a thing as a $5 chess clock. Hmm. That stinks.
-
It's no solution but if people want to practice, there are a couple free smartphone apps for chess clocks.
-
There are the egg timers. You can just use two a table.

Hmm. That might work. How many are in Plainville? Do we know?
-
I don't know off the top of my head but I am going there tonight. Ill look.
-
think there was like 6-8
-
There is all so a smart phone app.
-
6
-
If we do deathclock with egg timers, we need 2 per table.
-
6 clocks means that we have enough for all the people who play warmachine in 2012 and can't get access to a smart phone for a day.
-
I have a bunch of timers. I'm not 100% sure where the bag full of new ones is though...
-
Any news on the tier tournament at plainville?
-
please post it out +4weeks so i can use a vacation day i want to get paid to play. For the next plainville tourney.
