Latest rumors put Space Marine Codex in October (Last Dex in 2013) and the Bugs as the first dex of 2014.

Which ticks me off since my Orks (and BT) will still be operating with 4th ed Codex's while they spend all this time updating 5th ed Codex's.  I think da Boyz are going to be gathering some dust for a while.  (Of course, this is probably because Orks need a lot of fine tuning if they are going to make them an assault army that works in 6th, so they need more play testing to get it right....at least that is what I am going to keep telling myself.)

Keith is right.. most accurate rumor sources indicate Space Marines and Imperial Guard in early 2014, and Orks and Nids later 2014.

Yes Eldar will come this fall, and will be the next and final codex of 2013

A lot of rumors have it earlier than that, but we'll know in 3 weeks, once High Elves for Fantasy are out of the bag.

Orcs, Black Templars and Sisters are way overdue.

I think the reason they are doing Space Marines next is because it's an easy fix, only a couple new models and some new rules. The 3 aforementioned codexs need a major overhaul

A lot of rumors have it earlier than that,

I would be skeptical of that, since GW doesn't release new warhammer army books/codexes during summer months or December.

They also have never released this many army books in the first 4 months.  They obviously have made changes to their release schedule since 6th has released.  I would hope that they make a push to get everyone updated before the end of 2014.

They didn't used to release an armybook/codex every single month, either, but they have lately.  With the new schedule nothing seems especially sacred about the summer hiatus.

Space Marines are going to be released cuz they're The Codex, so it has to happen.  Orks are doing fine competitively, but they're starting to get old to the point where really only certain very specific builds work anymore.  (which I suppose is true of tyranids, and at least for the remainder of the week as a mono-build, Tau)

The only army I think that desperately needs love is Black Templar, and the rumor is GW just isn't sure what to do with them.  (seems easy to me, honestly, price them like CSM, but with ATSKnF, which makes them clearly better, but they'll have less magical/fancy tech toys like the other MEQs to make up for it)

They've said they don't want to lump them in with Space Marines which the think is good because that codex is huge enough already.

The lack of BT rumors is disheartening, seems pretty solid for Eldar then Space Marines with rumors for orcs, IG and Tyranids poping up here and there. But i havent seen anything for BT or sisters at all.

Yea I know they're releasing books every month, I posted that before Daemons were even announced. GW will still release new waves and expansions, but they still won't do it during codex release months.

The latest batch of rumors give this as the release schedule.

May: High Elves
June: Eldar
July: Apocalypse
August: Lizardmen
September: Blood Bowl
October: Space Marines
November: Dwarves?
December: Hobbit
January: Tyranids

So if I started a Tyranids  Army I wouldn't get punished right away for it. Good to know.

*Shrug* those are the rumors from a couple of months ago (which were on Faeit 212) and the ones I posted are the most current rumors on Faeit 212.

Current is not synonymous is "accurate". Faeit reposts stuff from Warseer, yes they are from a few months ago but GW makes its business decisions on what to release, a good 18 months in advance.

Rumor is not synonymous with "fact".  Since GW does not come out and say exactly what is coming out when, everything is suspect until it actually happens.

To get some-what off topic, Codexes bring Lore updates(on occasion) as well as rule updates. So the new Tyranid Codex will hopefuly reveal the full size of the approching Tyranid Hive fleet ( Fleet Leviathan, Dagon, Behemoth, Kraken, and Gorgon were just the scouting parties for this "Super Hive Fleet" which, according to lore, will arrive at the Imperium's border in less than a century) and just show how absolutely screwed all of the other factions are.

The relevence of this being some possible +1s for our "Cuddly" Trans-Galactic tourists in the new Codex.

You do realize the 13th Black Crusade campaign took place during 3rd edition and takes places in 999.M41(40,999); the last year of the 40th century.  The plot has not advanced forward in the past decade; but has it has filled in more things that happened in the past.

well, that would explain why the Imperium was on the verge of either annihilation or fantisic glory when i joined. (because i thought i was just very lucky to be in on one of the major plot points)

They usually give a couple. The big one I think is that the Golden Throne is failing and the Mechanicus can't fix it. That and Catgirls are Cannon in the 40k Universe.

Abhumans have been Canon for a While. I think 6th was the first time they gave Clarification and specification.

They just seem Increbibly unfitting for the scenario, like a horror story straight from Games Workshop's Marketing division.
