One day, several gamers made a pact to build and complete 1,000 point Warmachine and Hordes armies in six(ish) months. This is their story...
I'm sure everyone on this board has either took part in or read about something called "Tale of X Gamers", with x being defined as the number of participants. I wish I could offer the reader some innovation to this gaming cliche, but screw it. Seldom do you see anyone chronicle the development of a Warmachine or Hordes army, so there's the twist you cynics need. Without further ado, here's a list of who's committed to this trial and what army they'll be developing:
Ian Mulligan - Protectorate of Menoth (http://www.battlegroundgames.com/forum/index.php?topic=64.0)
Matt Thomas - Cryx (http://www.battlegroundgames.com/forum/index.php?topic=92.0)
Stephanie Mulligan - Privateers
Steve Daigneault - Searforge Contract
Deadline for 350 points painted: September 30th. COMPLETED
Deadline for 500 points painted: November 30th. COMPLETED
In the six(ish) months ahead of us, we'll be moving from our initial 350 point armies to 500 points, to 750, and all the way to 1,000. Though I can only speak for myself at this moment, expect posts about unit selection, painting, and game play as this journey winds its way.

its Daigneault....

Eh, Steve!
Updated.
-
yay!

Update:
To avoid having two privateer armies in the build I will be building either:
Cryx
A different mercenary army (Ashlyn or Magnus)
I think I have settled on Cryx with Lich Lord Terminus as my caster but I am still a bit ambivalent as I have a lot of mercenaries that also need work.
I have ruled out Kador for this run.

Looks like my stuff and Steph's stuff will be coming in this week. I propose jumping to 500 by September 1st.
-
Hmm... 6 weeks to 500 might be pushing it with all the other stuff I have going on. I am game to try though.
Guess I will have to get going faster than I thought.
... now where are those models.
-
Ha! I'm getting married. I totally forgot about that taking time.
Let's aim to get the 350 lists painted and ready by the end of September. Then, we start the 500 point ones.
-
Plus that leaves time for anyone else who wants to join in the fun.
Even if you have an army. Commit to painting it!
-
I know Steph has done some work on her models and it looks like D is picking up Kahdor... let's see some posts on your progress people.
-
if anyone wants to jump in on this, feel free. I'd love to see some people chronicle their work.

If I may, I have a battle box of Cygnar with Captain Victoria Haley priming as we speak, I'm really sure the point value yet, but it is a start.
-
Awesome! If you want any help making a list, don't hesitate in asking. I played Cygnar for a little while and there are few lurkers here who still do.
-
I've been toying with a predominantly cavalry Cygnar force.
Storm Lances +1, Kraye, a light jack and Laddermore works out to around 350.
I'm working on SL's right now, I saw Laddermore at the store and Kraye should be released shortly.
If I work fast, maybe I can get them all together.
-
I am running short on time to get my 350 list assembled and painted. The Bane Knights took way longer than expected. Fortunately they are ready for priming.
Left to do:
1. Finish assembling Terminus (pinning some wing tips)
2. Base Terminus and the Seether
3. Prime and paint EVERYTHING!
That is a LOT of painting in a short amount of time. Hopefully I can still make it. It may mean no more games till I am done though :(
-
I have some finishing touches on Zealots and then my choir to finish. I am sittin' pretty.

PROPOSED DEADLINE FOR 500 POINTS PAINTED: NOVEMBER 30th.
Is that okay for all involved? The Mulligan household thinks its a pansy date but will go along with the slowpokes.
-
Sounds fine. As soon as I feel better I will try to catch up on painting.
Hopefully things will speed up with no more Bane Knights to assemble.
-
I propose a March 1st deadline for 750, but could be persuaded into something later if MATT THOMAS FINISHED HIS WHOLE ARMY.
