Has anyone heard about White Dwarf now becoming a weekly magazine?
Also from now on GW is now doing releases in weekly waves throughout a given month. The 1st wave of Dwarfs just went on preorder with new plastic Hammerers/Longbeards(they look awesome), with the actual army book arriving sometime this month. It appears this is how GW will release all armies from now on, I'm surprised BG hasn't posted a list of Feb products release yet.

There previous method of releases wasn't selling, so they're just trying whatever else. Probably still mystified why tyranids didn't sell.
-
Well to be fair, we don't really know how well Tyranids sold. Also keep in mind that GW does not make these decisions on the fly, they would've made it at least 6 months ago but most likely longer.

I agree. It usually take a company months to plan and execute a new sales strategy. I would think this is just part of the big re-organization that they have been working on for the last year or so.

Sure, but do you actually think they sold well? Chase, sell much tyranids, lately?

<--- Is planning on buying some Tyranid stuff soonish.
Really with the way releases are coming out the numbers would drop sooner or later. Grey Knights came out everyone bought grey knights. Same with Necrons. The 5th Edition codexes Basically released one in April one in November. About 5-7 months apart. Now you got a new codex hitting every 2 months and Tyranids hits right after Christmas. I wouldn't be surprised if you saw a More steady flow of sales than the large influxes of the past.

Tyranids were a weak launch.

I'm basically sure their "something new every week" plan is terrible for me. I guess we'll see.
It's a great way to make sure people buy from them though, which it seems clear they want to make as convenient as possible when compared to coming to the game store.
-
Releasing models first gives people the chance to buy them before they see the book and realise the rules for them are no good.

White Dwarf weekly? COUNT ME IN :D
-
Its good that GW has moved into the next stage of its master marketing plan aimed at decisively increasing the sales for Privateer Press.

Lol'd
In other news, I've spent like $250 in Cryx lately, which is way more than I spent when the tau codex came out.

It seems like GW is convinced the world is going to end very soon.
-
Anyone know how much these weekly releases will cost?

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying, here.

I think they are about 3.50. I took a quick look at one. There was a guide to using plastic glue, the rules for the dwarf lord guy that was just released and I think a 40k mission.

White Dwarf = $4.00
Visions = $12.00
-
I never understood White Dwarf costs. Who spends $12 on a magazine that is almost all ads? It's like ordering an infomercial on pay-per-view.
-
So visions is the new monthly? And how is it different than white dwarf?

It costs more and has a primer on how to learn french and spanish in it.

Ah, guess I'll pass then. Never been very good with French, too many silent letters.
