Title: Saturday 40k Funtimes
Post by: bradpowers on March 14, 2014, 11:08:32 AM
Hey all,

A few of the folks at Thursday 40k last night decided we wanted to keep the 40k funtimes a rollin'.  We'll be meeting up on Saturday at noon.  Feel free to join in, the more the merrier (ya know, up until people start crushing people, suffocation, atoms trying to occupy the same space as other atoms, etc.  Not so merry then eh?)

I'm planning to be there. Trying to convince another friend to come out. I'd like to play a fun multiplayer game, if there is enough interest. See you tomorrow at noon.

Ohhhh, there will definitely be a multiplayer game.  And it'll be awesome.  I have been slowly losing interest in 40k as a competitive pursuit, but I think that 40k as a casual, narrative based, funtimes game is as good as ever.

Actually, with that in mind, anyone interested in using the NOVA narrative primers (Available here:http://www.novaopen.com/wp-content/uploads/Narrative-Supplements-31Jan14.pdf (http://www.novaopen.com/wp-content/uploads/Narrative-Supplements-31Jan14.pdf)) tomorrow?  I have a couple of ideas I'd like to try out as a test run for April's narrative event....

I know some people are burnt out by the competitive scene, and by the slow inclusion of Titans in regular 40k, but I am very curious to see what the month of May brings to the game.. as it is still heavy rumored to see the next edition of the game. I will reserve final judgement until then, but if people want to try something new(but familar) I'd recommoned trying out Fantasy.

The NOVA narritive does look fun though, even though it's missing Knights..still definately worth checking out.

I had fun. Thanks, and I'm sorry I had to leave early.

Next time I say we battle a massive hoard of bugs.

I watched the game yesterday, it was really awesome to see a multi player game with 2 tables pushed together.. fighting for control of the planet. I also picked up the new Crimson Slaughter codex, so hopefully in about a month my legion will be able to join the planetfall. Very cool NOVA rules, a lot better then the Swedish comp  ;D

I liked the Nova rules. Cheaper Crimson Hunter = Death from Above. Although, I'm glad the 4++ Death Company chose to drop on the other side of the battle.

Wanna play again this Saturday? Spoonaur and I bring a bunch of Tyranids? Any other  bugs wanna join the cause?  I suggest we agree on points and build lists offline so we can start the game sooner upon arrival.
