Well, new starter preorders up soon! Space Wolves versus Orks. Looks good, I guess...
-
thats kind of exciting. I have always admired the Space Wolves despite people saying they are dumb because they go riding into battle on big ass wolves.
-
According to the White Dwarf Dark Vengeance is being updated to include the 7th edition rules. So I'm not sure if this is a new starter set or just some sort of 2 army box set. Still if its not too expensive Ill split a box if it has some good Ork stuff in it.
-
From Dakka:
"I'm not sure if it's been posted already
box content:
1 x Ork force made-up of 5 Ork Nobz; 10 Ork Gretchin; one Runtherd; and 3 Killa Kans
1 x Space Wolf force made-up of 5 Wolf Guard Terminators; 5 Grey Hunters; and 5 Blood Claws
2 x brand new plastic characters - Ork Warboss Grukk Face-rippa and Wolf Lord Krom Dragongaze
1 x 32 page campaign booklet which includes datasheets and narrative missions
1 x 208 page small format softback version of the Warhammer 40,000: The Rules
for a price just a little shy of 100 euro
Oh and it's while stocks last."
-
SPACE WOLVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is all go about your regular scheduled programming.
-
damn it he said it before i could! XD
-
A moment of silence for I and all my fellow Wolf players, as we mourn the best valued kit in all of 40k, and its inevitable repacking to be $40 for five guys.
-
Unfortunately, this IS a limited and "while supplies last."
They're $125.00
If you're interested in one please let me know ASAP. I will be given my allocation tomorrow. The product officially goes on sale July 19th (18th here).
-
I want to get one is there any chance to get it in Abington because plainville is a hike for me.
-
Abington will get some, yeah.
Please let them know you like it or send me an email at ChaseLaq@gmail.com so I can forward it them if you can. Otherwise just shoot me your name in a PM.

I would be willing to go in ona box just for the mini rule book. I don't need any of the minis.
-
It may be my distaste for the company influencing how I see things, but is this less of a value than the previous two starter kits?
-
Models retail for about $175, not counting the two new Characters.

Yes, but there are fewer models than dark vengeance and it cost more. But it does include the narrative mission book, so there's that. Also, only 19 Ork models? for a horde army that seems like a very low count. DV came with 20 cultists and other chaos stuff. Still worth it though, anytime rules come with models is a thumbs up for me.

I'll pay 20 bucks for the warboss if you get the box.
-
I do question this business model, too...
If they sculpt and manufacture these great models, why make them limited?
I wonder if the expense of making the sprues has gone down do much that they can make a new limited box like this every year or so, sell out of them quickly, and just move on. If the profit is there, I guess it works!
I did like when the starter marines were usable as any chapter, but that's my bias :)
These are all great models, but limited stuff just irritates me... Though I am interested to see GW is al least trying to change. Now if only they would make the mini rulebook cheap and readily available to get people playing!
-
Probably to cater to the people that collect stuff / create a sense of urgency or hype.
It's a great product, similar to what Wizards of the Coast puts out for it's limited edition Magic releases. They purposely don't print enough so that it's a collectible, generates hype, and gets people talking (like this thread and your post, Shawn). People that get it now have something "cool" and all that.

Plainville is getting 12 of them.
-
I actualy want one
-
I wonder if they'll come out with these for other factions. It would be cool to have like a Grey Knights vs Demons or Necrons vs Space Marines box.
-

I'll get you one, Mr. D.
Our boy Cale under ordered.
-
Going by the announcement, I don't think this is the official starter box. Just wish they would stop with the marines, let the true heros of the Inperium have their day. Those rave, countless, unsung heros of the Astra Milatarum.
Otherwise, see my other thread with my order request :)

we need to sit him down and have words...
-
No worries, Steve D. I fixed it for you.
-
So I guess we can assume Space Wolves will be the next codex update.
-
it looks like they are re-printing dark vengeance as a starter kit when these run dry

Yep getting a new Flyer too. It looks like a flying brick shithouse but has some pretty nasty armaments on it.
-
hey Chase
Any of these left in Abington and if so can they hold one for dave mace ill be there sat.
-
I took a bunch of the copies left over in Abington, but they should still have some.
I'll have them set aside one for you, Dave.
-
Thank you Chase
