Title: Scum and Villainy Preview - Star Viper!
Post by: commanderfrost on November 25, 2014, 08:22:16 AM
Hey all, I am going to start posting the FFG previews / articles in their own posts to generate some conversation.

First up: The Star Viper!

The article is a pretty decent read, but I am going to link some card images here for us as well.
 First up, the ships!

Priced between 25 to 31 points, I really like what I see. The dial is nice, and features the new Segnor Loop maneuver in place of the more standard "K-turn" that the current wave ships utilize. I think it is particularly interesting just how little "Green" is on that dial. Once this ship gets stress, it will be limited in how it removes it.

The action bar is fantastic.

Boost and Barrel Roll make the Interceptor pilot in me very happy. We add Focus and Target lock, but avoid Evade. This ship is certainly geared towards being aggressive on the attack.

There is one other card that is previewed in the article that I want to talk about, and that is Autothrusters!

This modification is obviously good on the Starviper, but it also makes A-Wings and Tie Interceptors better! I am absolutely positive that we will see several Tie Interceptors using this modification, along with the Royal Guard Title to combo with an additional Modification.

Enjoy the article, and let me know what you think about this ship and the cards!

When Scum was announced, I was sure I wasn't going to bother with it.
When they started previewing what's in most wanted, I was changing my mind.
This Preview thoroughly convinced me.
It looks perfect. This ship really seems like it'll fit my playing style.
A Most wanted and 1 or 2 of these would go a long way.

@ Ron - The StarViper really does look perfect. It falls somewhere in between an Interceptor and a Defender in terms of its stats and maneuver dial.

I think the ship will shine with even the most minimal upgrades, and I am really looking forward to getting a couple on the table soon.
