anyone want to start a new mordheim league with some money on the line? maybe $5-30 a person? let me know. any day pretty much but wednesdays is good now
-
hmmmmm.
so you plan to run a league on say a thursday with an entry fee?
-
idk about me but people were asking about it this wednesday at the league so i figure if they want a real league why not put some money make it a lil bit more interesting and do like fixed pairings
-
what makes the current league not real???
-
ok, on wed I'll talk to the rest of the people involved. If the general concensus is that people would enjoy a more restricted format with a prize, then we will talk to Derek about making that happen.
I also have heard that the store has been rather busy on Wed as of late, so I will be talking to Derek to see if there is a night that would be able to accomidate us a little better. If anyone has any restrictions please let us know so we can try to plan accordingly.
-
im just posting what ive heard and it sounded cool. im open except wednesdays right now.
-
I was talking to chase earlier, and it seems that moving to thursdays maybe a better day.
The Flames of War and Magic guys look to be regulars on that day. I will talk with everyone that shows on Wed about starting up something with a more restricted format. Basically, the entry fee would be $5, games would be set-up. We will use the mordheim map in the back of the store to rank players. The winner will be the first player to reach the end point and defend the spot.
Other aspects of the game will be discussed on this up coming wed. We will start the new league when all players interested or involved in this current league have been informed.
-
im only available till 9 on thursdays would that be a problem?
-
Well, I doubt that it would.
I think for a league that would involve some form of prize at the end we are better off with games that would be setup on one night a week. But the games themselves could be played on a different day entirely as long as it was good for both players to do so.
Tonight I am going to be talking to everyone about the whole thing, taking input and going over how the new league would work. Basically though, players would be cut down to two games a week. That doesn't mean you couldn't play for fun or anything, just that any games beyond what is organized would not count. We also need to discuss a fair entry fee, I'm leaning towards no more than 5 dollars.
-
so is there any progress toward starting the new league?
-
yes there is, I will post the details later. But we are planning to start serpt 30th with a 5$ entry fee.
-
thats a wednesday so wouldnt it be october 1st? if its wednesdays will anyone be available to play another day?
-
ya I'm sorry I meant the 1st, I looked at the calendar too quickly.
-
ok ill be there then ill either be playing carnival or possesed again havent decided yet
-
Hey guys,
if I want to get in on this, should I be speaking up now or is the roster going to be handled later, or whats up?
thanks
-Tim
-
Tim,
We are planning on starting up this league on the 1st, around 6pm I would believe is a good time. If you are already to go just show up that night and there will be a $5 dollar entry fee, and that night I will go over how the league will break down. If you feel like you need to get in touch a little more with the game just let me know, also there are plenty of players around the store will to help you test out a band that your thinking about using.
-
i just started so i just need to touch up maybe go over a couple of the more complex things. is there a day besides thursdays youre there?
-
dave,
if your asking when I'm around the store? It varies, some weeks are better than others. I am always there on tuesday nights but I have D&D from 6 to 9. But, usually tues-thurs and sundays are good days to find me down there.
-
im actually all set im just deciding between skaven and carnival for my warband can you give any tips or advice on each?
-
skaven are a little more forgiving a warband to play, you have access to cheaper troops and a few hero choices. Also their spell casting is done by a non warband leader, so fairly easy and cheap to replace should the need arise. The strength of the skaven is in their numbers, they have one of the highest warband sizes in the game. Making them easy to over whelm an opponent with larger numbers of weaker models. They also excel in speed, just about everyone in the skaven army is high in initiative and in movement.
The down side is their leadership, they start at a 7 leadership and that is their max. So it is fairly easy to force them to run if you can get them to take a rout check. Also the low leadership hurts them in fights against fear causing units.
The carnival is a hard warband to describe, their strength some would say is in their nurgle's rot. That ability can cripple a warband in a campaign. But that doesn't help you in the games your play during the league (what I mean is that it doesn't help you win the fight by inflicting it, it helps in games that follow by weakening the units toughness), so I find it less than helpful. They also have tainted ones, which are like the mutants of the possessed, only they can not take more "gifts/mutations" after creation. This makes them expensive to outfit if you go crazy with abilities. The rest of the warband is fairly straight forward. The brutes hit stuff hard, the deamons are all deamons, and the brethren are then so you have a henchman that can gain exp. Which is the downfall I think of the carnival, not many of thier units get better after games because they don't gain exp. Which makes them great to start but causes them to pale in comparison to henchmen of other bands around your fifth or sixth game.
its really up to you what you "like", because sadly in mordheim no band is perfect. If you excel in something you tend to be weaker in another area. Or you can be average across the board.
-
is there that many leadership tests really? just for fear and rout but isnt there a skill which gives you fear they can take and they dont rout till late due to numbers. or am i missing some horrible flaw to the skaven?
-
fearsome is the skill you are talking about, it is a strength skill. Only the black skaven and the assassin can take strength skills. Which leaves the rest of your warband testing on a 7.
No, there are not a ton of leadership checks you have to make in the course of a game. But, there are a few, and those few can cost you a game. Rout, All alone, Fear, stupidity all these are based on your leadership. Its not a big weakness to the army, but I would hate to hear someone pick up and army and start crying three games in that there is no way fro them to win because of some weakness the army has. I'm just tryin to give you the whole picture about the band. Skaven are good but don't expect to walk over your opponents, some games are going to be an easy win for them but not all games.
Ask Riley, he is using skaven. And he won alot of games, but when it came down to fighting the bigger models the skaven sometimes fell short on damage dealing. But, against other teams it was a walk in the park.
-
really? i thought skaven were good at damage. i think i just gotta fin a day this week after school to come and try the bands out with someone. i dont mind losing (my magister had more wounds than any other character). i have the skaven, possesed, and carnvial. id do possesed but i ended up going crazy with the possesed that i only had 2 possesed and one magister in the entire warband.
-
Just a reminder:
I have talked with Derek about starting up a new league on Thursdays nights, that seems to be the least active night currently. There will be a 5 dollar entry fee, and we are going to decide the winner based on a best of score at the end of a set week period. There will be random pairings every week. I would like to try and do two games a week but depending on the amount of players we get that can be established on the first night. Games will not need to be played on the Thursday, but must be played before the following Thursday meeting. If players can not make it down for any reason we can use the message board to establish communication and organize the games.
We will kick this new league off on October 1, any questions you can catch me in the store before that day or the day of. Bring you warband ready to go by 6 o'clock, if you are going to be later please let me know so I can plan accordingly and try to get everyone matched up. We will be using the standard warband creation of 500 gold to start (barring and special rules that alter that for a specific warband.)
The same warbands are allowed as the last event we did, anything from the rulebook and other bands as list on the GW website as legal. I will have all rules reguarding these bands available for players.
P.S. for those of you that don't know me already, I'll be the guy that everyone is having a great time hanging around in the store. ;)
-
Hey,
I was looking around trying to pick a warband and I saw the Beastmen Raiders, are they an option? i was thinking of going down to the store and getting a beastherd regiment for the league but I didnt want to waste the money if they are not an acceptable warband.
thanks
Tim
-
Hey, Tim. Unfortunately I can't answer the question myself. I will direct this to someone who can though, in an effort to get you answer to you asap.
-
sorry tim,
I was busy the past few days and just caught your post, to help you a bit with your decision here is the list and a litte about the forces.
Players Handbook
Humans:(Reiklanders) 12" leadership range, +1 BS for their Marksmen
(Middenheim) Captain and Champions start with Str 4 instead of Str 3
(Marienburg) This warband starts with a bonus 100 gold.
Cult of the possessed: band of cultists and mutants, you get to make your own mutant!
Witch Hunters: A human band that hates the mages, they get access to guns and warhounds (a nice cheap henchman.)
Sisters of Sigmar: Bad ass Nuns with whips and some big hammers, they got a blind chick that gets to re-roll misses (Ironic)
Undead: Lead by a Big Ol' vampire, this warband is full of guys that cause fear.
Skaven: Ratmen, they are fast as the dickens. Low Leadership scores though. Fun special equip too.
-
Orc& Goblin warband: Its orcs and goblins, squigs and a troll Oh my!. Orcs tend to be tuff, but the animosity rules can screw you on an important turn.
Dwarf Treasure Hunters: Dwarfs are tuff and slow, they also get extra treasure after each fight, but god are they slow.
Osterlander: A variant human band, have some drunkards but nothing great I think
Averlander: these guys can take a ogre as a henchman, so there ya go.
Kislevite: Norsemen with a trained bear, the leader gets one piece of gear at half price.
Beastmen: Beastmen, another strong and tuff band. They are a bit pricey depending on how you build the group (minotaur is costly but a Brute) They are fast too, I think the only big draw back is that they start with max stats. Which makes them strong early but as other bands catch up I think they may lose power. Also, they can not use hired swords and lack any real ranged attacks.
Carnival of Chaos: This is a Nurgle worshipping band, much like the possessed you can make your own stinky tainted one. This band is fairly straight forward, deamons never get better but are good for the cost. The spells are ok, and you can get some range weapons if you need too. I think the big thing here is that tainted ones get real expensive.
Tim, I myself got all I needed to start a beastman band out of the regiment.
-
thanks alot for the post, that was very helpful. but seeing them all listed out makes it so hard to pick one, they all look cool!
thanks again
-Tim
-
Heyas. This is Tim, the one who plays vampire counts (which Bill murdered if that helps). I was going to be there tonight for the league but I got called into work since apparently my coworkers all manage to get sick at the same time. If there is an extra spot I would like to be included and I will be there later tonight, but not until 9:30 - 10. I'll have the entry fee and stuff so if there is a spot I can play a game tonight, just late. If not...well I'll be sad but will get over it. :P
-
hey kevin i got a few questions:
a. do we have to keep the same warband or is it simply point based?
b. if i have more than one unholy relic can i pass multiple rout checks?
c. lets do 3 games, 1 is too few of games for people to bother coming and we should hold list copies after each game so theres no cheating or one person getting 1,000 extra games in and slaughtering those who only play the tournament sanctioned games ;D
-
A) yes you are to keep the same warband for the run of this event. Otherwise it would make the exp from each game pointless. And there is no way you can justify transfering experience between warbands since upgrades from leveling is random.
B) Unholy relic allows you to pass the first leadership based test in a game. This applies to rout tests, but if you leader had to take another leadership based test it would also get used on that. So be wary of psychology test (i.e. fear, stupidity, all alone, etc.) The relic is good for only one use per game.
C) We will not be doing three games unless people really call for it, we will meet next week and see if we can up it to two games a week. If the majority wants that then we shall go with it.
It would go without saying that the only games that count are the ones that are setup by me. If there is a reason to suspect any fudging of warband sheets I will question someone on the upgrades. For example if someone had a character that managed to level multiple times in one game his opponent would remember and I record the matches. So I will be able to check to see if the stories match up.
All equipment, warrior, and rare items are to be purchased directly after a game with your opponent present. There is no going home and deciding on whether or not to buy something for next game. If it can wait till before your next game then it can wait for after your next game.
-
for anyone interested these are the results from the first week of games.
win/lose
Tim (Dwarfs) 1/0
Rich B. (Carnival) 0/1
Rich C. (Orcs+Goblins) 0/1
Bill (sisters of sigmar) 0/1
Jared (Beastmen) 1/0
Dave G. (Skaven) 1/0
Dave G.2 (Possessed) 0/1
Tim F. (Undead) to be played
Kevin (Beastmen) 1/0
If anyone is interested in joining in it is not to late. The entry fee is $5, and the league is set to run for another 5 weeks. Just contact the store for more information.
-
I'm sorry, Dave I mis-read your question on the relic.
A holy/unholy is used on the first leadership test a model takes. So, once used that relic can no longer be used. So You could use multiple relics if they were on different models and the models in question were the ones taking the current rout check.
This would involve your leader A) taking a rout check, then the relic is used. Then the leader would have to be removed from the game and another hero with the relic would be responsible for the next test and so on. So it is unlikely that this tactic will pay off, but having many relic does help.
-
ok so i couldnt just make a new 500gc warband and still keep my win? its fine if i can or cant i can see where it wouldnt be fai. also, this thursday the 8th is my birthday and im not 100% on my plans so if you could post my opponent on this board thatd be helpful:)
-
Ok, do you know when you will be available to play your game? because I know of at least one other player that can not make it that night either. So, pairing you two would work out for everyone if you can agree on an alternate day.
As far as starting a new band but keeping your wins, I would lean on the side of no. This is mainly to avoid certain conversations, if someone was to start a band over in week three and then lose to a more experience band there may be comments. And there is no fair way to transfer experence from an existing band to a new one. Using this logic I would think it best if everyone just stuck with the warband they start with. Unless you would for some reason like to just start fresh, but I see that as being less than productive for a player trying to win.
-
thats what i meant was to make a totally new band with the 500gc no exp or anything except the "win" for game 1, not the actual winning exp from game 1, just the point. but ill stick with skaven for this league, maybe there will be another thursday league after this one with the same idea. as for pairings thats fine who is it? im probablly able to come down friday for a quick game if thats good for them, the day after the actual week starts?
-
hey why dont we have a "mega battle" for week 6 or 7 as the finals where every kill awards a point, as a way of basically giving the player in last place to still have a shot at winning, or first place pulling a hat-trick (cough cough me ::)) thatd be a pretty freakin intense way to end ssomething like this. i think itd work ;D
-
we have 9 players?! how the hell does this work out? maybe somebody will play to even it out. or a random multiplayer game each week?
-
oh yeah i think skavens all set cuz im def gonna have next to no leadership tests bwah hahaha :D
all i need to do is keep rolling surprise attacks and not having ADD and saying ill defend...
-
trying to think of the best way to work two games a week. Right now I'm leaning towards setting up a game and having players play each other twice in a week. But, the idea does not seem well received.
I am also thinking of ammending the scenerios to exclude suprise attack, since most of the time it favors the attacker more than anything. I'll put this up to a vote thursday, everyone think about what you would prefer.
-
do it based on points. example i could play you week 2 game 1 because we have 1 point. the 0s play the 0s. then week 2 game 2 check the points and do the pairings again id play the 3s. so basically the winner is the one who has lucky number 7 points. the best way to settle this fairness crap is to screw scenarios and do it my way: last member of a warband standing wins each game. now thats a true test to whos the best ahahaha that means some people would be losing up to fifteen people if they dont rout! nice. but the pairing is how most tournament are done to keep everytin fair
-
I was actually thinking of doing a variation of what you suggested, that whole winner's only fight winners pyramid taps out by week three or four depending on the amount of players. As it stands right now I am leaning towards pairing all the winners against each other, and everyone that lost against each other. The variation is that we just base the pairings on the week before, so there really is no grouping of winners and losers just matches based on the previous weeks games. This works out well for this week since I know two players most likely will not make it to thursday nights meeting and two other players will probably not be able to play a game till around 8 or 9 o'clock anyway.
As for last man standing, the problem with that is that is makes warbands with cheap henchmen groups over powered. And undead band could hire the vampire with almost no equipment and have 19 zombies that are a pain to kill. So, we will do the missions, I just am thinking about removing some of the ones that tend to be no fun for either player.
Dave I am assuming at this point that you will not be able to make it thursday, so I will need to know alternative days you can be available so I can set you up against someone.
-
i can stop by friday or sat/sun anytime after 1. actually random pairings are still in my favor we should keep them:)
-
replace the unfair matches with a capture the flag and first blood match: first team to kill wins
-
i can stop by friday or sat/sun anytime after 1. actually random pairings are still in my favor we should keep them:)
why should we base this league on what benefits you?
-
this week we are matching up the winners of last week and the losers vs each other, a standing guess right now of who faces who are as follows.
Jared Brown vs Dave G (skaven) This game should be setup between the two of you since I know neither can make it down this week.
Dave G2 (carnival) vs Bill (sigmar) I know Dave is hard pressed to be at the store by 6 and billy has a Dnd game till 9ish, so a later game would probably work well for both players
Tim vs Kevin (beastmen)
Rich B vs Rich C- IF curtin can't make it Tim F(vampires) will play Rich B.
-
this week is my off week for dnd so ill be there around 6pm
-
hey why these attacks at me haha! i always do what benefits me:) jared if your on the boards just post a time this weekend that ill meet you there. for the battle to end all battles! (for week 2)
-
Just messin with ya. I'm Jared I can be there maybe late afternoon Saturday or any time Sunday. Sunday is better for me as I am busy early Saturday and don't know an exact time when I'll be done
-
sunday at 1pm the nezumi skaven claim their second victim:)
-
week 2 results
Tim (dwarf) 2-0
Kevin (Beastmen) 1-1
Tim F. (vampires) 1-0 week 2 game to be played
Billy (sisters) 1-1
Dave g2 (possessed) 0-2
Rich B (Carnival) 0-1 week 2 game to be played
Jared B (beastmen) 1-1
Dave G (skaven) 2-0
-
fantastic! now all i need to do is beat jared and tim and im in the money ;D
-
well to be correct I would say you would have to beat both tims. The dwarves and the vampires, since Tim F has not played his second game yet either he could end up being undefeated also.
But thumbs up for you optimisim! ;)
-
kevin, kevin, kevin... if i wasnt optimistic id never attempt a warband that once i gotta make a ld test i either fling a relic or say screw it haha. or admit my warbands only actual weakness besides my crap hero getting two wounds... god damn night runners
-
ld 7 isn't bad......
-
Speaking of Tim F, who is my week 2 opponent and when should we battle?
-
it Rich B. with the carnival, I just need to find out when he is available. Worst case it can just get done on next thursday. I'll know all the games results by then so a late game for you guys shouldn't really slow the pairings at all.
he had some personal issues he had to leave to take care of on thursday.
-
Ok cool. I am not free Tuesday but any other day is good. I may end up working Thursday but it would be short and late, from 6 to 930, but anytime before or after that I could do the game since work is only about 15 minuets away.
-
just a heads up to whoever I am matched with this week, I cant make it on Thursday. When the pairings are out Ill message here or pm you to figure out a better day, sorry about that.
thanks
-Tim
-
ok tim, I'll take that into account
-
so i guess im playing the other tim on thursday?
just was thinking, say i beat tim and my next opponent (or tim goes 4-0) that means logically nobody could possibly have a chance at winning besides the two of us... which means week 5 and 6 is almost pointless. which is why we need some sort of "wild card" win chance haha
-
well your assuming you'd win. the fact is that right now there are technically three players who are undefeated. The dwarfs, and skaven both have played two games and won. The Vampires have not gotten their second game in but at this point his week two opponent is forfeiting. That makes three players with a 2-0 score.
So, there is that.
The matchings for this week are just so everyone can get ready.
Tim (Vamps) vs Dave (Skaven) If there is any conflict in availablitiy please let me know, I know tim you may be late tomorrow.
Bill (sisters) vs Tim (Dwarfs) Tim can not make it this week on thursday, and I know Billy has a DnD game that night. So if Saturday is good for both I think that may work out.
Jared (beastmen) vs Dave G(Possessed)
Kevin (Beastmen) vs Rich (Carnival)
Any questions or problems post them and we'll see what we can work out.
-
O, for the record I did go over this the first night but I just want to make sure everyone remembers. Forfeits count as a win for the player, out right, the downside is that the winner while getting a point for the win will not get any exploration rolls or exp.
Tim (Vamps) I know you tried to get the game set-up but Rich just told me he would have to scrap it due to personal issue that conflicted with his schedule. If you don't want to take the win and wanna play the game I'll see what I can do about setting up a game for week two.
Also, Week 3 is the entry of the hired swords. Anyone wishing to hire one but is unable to make it thursday please send me a PM with a high bid and the hired sword you wanna get. This also applies to anyone arriving late. I play to get this out of the way by 7 pm tomorrow so we can go on with the games.
-
I think it is probably simpler if I take the "win" at this point. That's one xp for surviving and an exploration roll and that's it yes? Please correct me if I am wrong. And should I wait for you or the next game to do any of thoses rolls?
I am avaiable Thursday, save from 6:15 PM till 9:30 PM due to work. Anytime before or after that I am free.
-
Scrach that. Rich is actually hear at the moment And so am I so we are just going to play the game now.
-
ok rich let me know the results, current matches stay the same.
-
Hey, I had planed with Dave to play the game sunday but it seems I am the only manager who can work this sunday. Dave, or if someone can let him know, send me a PM hear and I will reschedual with you.
-
Hey,
Bill, you think you can play our game in this thursday, then we can have our score in right before Kevin makes next weeks list.
maybe aim for 5:30-6?
tell me what you think
-Tim
-
Yeah Tim Thursday sounds good to me I should be there earlier in the day but defiantly by that time.
-Bill
-
if you mean skaven dave im booked up till thursday so if its ok with kevin we could do a double game on thursday. other than that i have no real openings maybe tuesday... probably not im in the store now
-
Yeah I mention skaven Dave. Let me know if you do end up free before Thursday otherwise I can show ip early that day for our game. I'll keep an eye on the boards.
-
sorry tim, i have band rehearsals on thursdays but i should be there early like i was before. i plan on being there around 5-5:30 if all goes well
-
Week three results
Tim (dwarfs) 2-0 week 3 to be played
Kevin (Beastmen) 2-1
Rich (Carnival) 0-3
Jared (beastmen) 1-1 week 3 to be played
Dave G (skaven) 2-0 week 3 to be played
Dave g (possessed) 0-2 week 3 to be played
Billy (sisters) 1-1 week 3 to be played
Tim (vampire) 2-0 week 3 to be played
I know many of the games are planning to be played on Thursday, so we will have to get most of the match ups then. Unless I hear otherwise from Jared I think he is forfeiting this week due to a hectic work schedule.
-
if im not there before 6 to play tim ill just forfeit my game for week 3 to keep things moving smoothly
-
tomorrow I think we are going to have a delay in the week. I need to get the games for week three in to see who will play who.
I also will be unable to be down for the whole night on thursday, its the girlfriends b-day so we have plans.
So, for this week I think we can extend the deadline for games. Since forfeiting only nets you the win and no gold or exp. Jared has offically forfeited at this point, I know me and him will be away all weekend at a wedding. I'd like to see the rest of the results before we continue with the matches.
-
Bill, you going to be around on Sunday to wrap up our week three game?
-Tim
-
Vampire Tim kicked my ass for week 3 :'(
-
Tim, yeah i can be down there for Sunday.
-
Sorry Bill, my Boss asked me to help him with a bball clinic tonight, so I couldnt make it down, sorry I didnt get that message to you sooner.
when will you be in the store this week? ill either come down on one of those days, or ill forfeit the game so we can all move on and get back on track.
-Tim
-
ok I am back from my trip.
From what I gather Tim and Dave got their game in, is there anymore progress in organizing games for: Tim (dwarves)vs Billy, and Dave(possessed) vs Jared?
-
Ill be down there Wednesday Tim, but I have a Battletech game also that night If we can get it in before or after that would be fine. And ill also be there Thursday, Have DnD that night so before 7 i can play.
-
Hey, i was going to come down tonight, but I lost access to my car (my wife took it to work)
what time is battletech done? maybe i can make it there later on.
-Tim
-
Ok everybody just to give you all the current standings as I have them
Tim(dwarfs) 3-1
Tim(Undead) 4-0
Billy(Sisters) 1-2
Dave(Possessed) 1-3
Dave(skaven) 3-1
Rich(Carnival) 0-3
Jared(beastmen) 1-2
Kevin(beastmen) 2-1
If these are wrong let me know, I know that Jared, Billy, Rich, and myself have not played the week 4 games.
-
does the store sell indiviual plastic bases for models? i need about 5
-
they do sell square bases in a package, this includes: infantry, cavalry, and 25mm bases. But, they don't come individually as far as I know.
-
thats fine i was just wondering whether they had them in stock for my "dice rats" and a new set of henchmen ;D i might (might) end up week 6 last game having a rat ogre in play (maybe if a game 7 ever happens lol)
-
Week 7 is a possibility, I mean right now the Vampires are the only undefeated. So, if they lose week 5 it is realistic we may have to continue until a definitive winner can be announced. Like I said to you week 2, with the way the games go someone can be in the lead and then suddenly its anyone's game.
-
if im trying for a rat ogre its more like week 10. i think next league i might try a shooty skaven i really like the skaven as a whole. especially with my (so far) ridiculous luck on leadership rolls:)
-
Hey fellas,
me and my wife are going house shopping tonight so I wont be able to make it. I planned on coming down, but our broker/Realtor guy called up with a couple houses to check out tonight, so I got outvoted (wifey votes count twice) so I wont be around tonight, sorry about the late notice, it was late notice for me to.
-Tim
-
thats cool tim, whenever you get a chance to be down we can see if we can set you up a match. There was not a lot of people down tonight. There was only two week 5 games played actually so no big deal.
-
I had work. Who is my opponent so I can set up a game?
-
kevin, is it ok for me to buy Veskit, high clan eshin executioner. the dramatis? if so can you explain his warplock pistol/fighting claws?

in order to buy veskit you have to search for him as the dramatis persona, this would be done after a game during your exploration. Instead of looking for rare items you declare how many heroes your are sending to look for him. then make and inititative check with those heroes, the goal is to roll equal to or under you init value (ex, a init 3 human would have to roll a 3,2, or 1 to pass the test.)
His warplock pistols and claws are as described, he counts as having a brace of warplock pistols attached to his hands. So in the first round of combat he can shoot each one once instead of his normal attacks. If you choose to shoot the pistols (str 5, with a -3 modifer to armor) you can still make up to two parry attempts with his claws since they are part of the guns.
-
It is important to note, that if you send a hero to look for a dramatis persona that hero can not search for rare items. And when you decide how many heroes are looking that is the number that go looking, even if one hero finds him on the first try you still count as having sent whatever number of declared prior to the search.

Annoying Veskit.
So Kevin, who is my match this week? I just want to know sooner rather then later so I can set up the game.
-
right there are 4 people without a week 5 game, they are : Rich, Jared, Tim(undead), and Tim(dwarves).
Cyclonis I think the only one of them you haven't played is Jared. So, I would lean towards you playing him. But I am not sure of everyone's schedule this week. Like I said four people showed up thursday and they all got matched. I would say just see who is available this week to get a game in, because I can not garentee that jared will be down there without first talking to him. But he reads the boards so he'll post his availability.
-
I can be there today or maybe tuesday
-
Assuming Jared is roaddogg21581, I can do today if needed, but Tuesday is right out.
-
Your assumption is correct.
-
ha you assumed... ass
-
sorry but im going to have to forfeit all my games for this month due to school sorry for the short notice hopefully there wont be balance problems
-
OK, Jared, I'll be there early tonight if you want to get the game in then.
-
sad news to report too all you guys, I know not many could show this week. It was at this point that I felt we should end the league. As it stands there is one game left to be played between the Tims, the winner of this game shall be named the 1st place winner and the loser will fall into second place.
-
bummer, but I agree, I haven't been able to keep to the schedule because of work and junk, and I apologize fore that, but I had a blast every game I played and thank you all for participating. When are you around Tim, so we can finish this up and the dwarfs can get some revenge (or try to at least) against your vampires?
-
Monday, Tuesday, Wensday, early Thursday or Friday, or after tournament Saturday, tho I am not sure if I will have the army I want to enter into it so I may be free almost all that day.
-
I forfeit to Tim, I missed last week b/c of work and I cant figure out when ill be able to get down again.
sorry, when we started the league I was only working part time so I thought Id be around more, but now that I am working full time I dont have the free time I used to.
ill see everyone around BG

I am told that Tim F. and Tim C. placed 1st and 2nd respectively. Is this correct, Kev?
Prize = 25.00 to 1st and 15.00 to 2nd?
