Title: Painting Competition!
Post by: jfoodmaster on July 06, 2010, 05:51:21 PM
With there being talk of unbeatable lists and winning at all costs on the table top going on in other places around here, I wanted to get to another subject.

In the painting comp, I brought what I thought was my A-game and I'm excited to see what the results are.

How many entries were there? My entry was a captain (who I named G'sav) for my Salamanders army. Unfortunately, in his first battle, he got squished by a defiler.

I can't wait to see the case of entries when I come down on saturday!

I painted a nice Squat in Exo-Armor.  Pretty happy with how it came out, and amusingly (for various reasons) I probably did a lot better than I've done painting anything else.

There were only 11 entries into the June painting competition.  I blame myself for such a small number of participants.

Anyways, of the 11 participants I think we got a solid representation of various levels of painting ability.  We had one guy enter who had only painted a handful of Space Marines previously, we had a few guys who have been hired to do higher end commission work, and several people in between.

As far as when the results and critiques will be available I can not say.  I'd expect sometime during the back half of this month.

Sue and I began the process of critiquing and reviewing each of the submitted models last night. We want to take our time and carefully analyze each and every detail. The third judge, Seb, will also be adding his experience to the panel this week. I would expect announcements in about a week or so. I also plan to post pictures of all the models here.

Thank you to all that participated. Everyone who made the effort deserves lots of credit!

Yup, they are all on display currently and will remain on display after they have been judged if the painter would like.
