Come down to Battleground in Plainville to hang out, eat some pizza, paint some models, and have fun! This is the first of what we hope to turn in to a monthly gathering. New and experienced painters are welcome and encourgaed to join! It's about time we put together a painting night / group.
On this particular Tuesday night we will also be sending off Jason McLean, who has just landed his dream job in NYC (I believe). We will have cake and ice cream for those interested. There will be gaming of various kinds, painting (of course), and shenanigans is sure to ensue.
Come hang out!

I'm there, as I'm certainly not going to miss Jason's going away party. It's so going to be like the poster.
Painting is usually a quiet, solitary activity of mine, but I'll give the social experience a try.

It is my belief that getting a group of guys / people together to hang out, bullshit around, and paint some models is, in no small part, responsible for Abingtons success as a store / community.
Why not try to recreate that in Plainville?

I had a great time last night. What I didn't expect was how much of the time painting could also be used to get to know people. I was also happy for the chance to hang out with Jason (after all that Portal 2 hubbub was settled :) ). Thanks to the crew for keeping the shop open!

This was awesome guys.
Chase and Derek, thanks so much for putting this on.
I didn't intend to play Portal 2 for so long. The Plan™ was to play until 6 or so and then get my painting stuff. I didn't expect a crowd of no less than 7 people at any given time watching me play and urging me to finish.
When I turned around and looked at the room at 7:30 or so it was packed and I almost put the game away to get my paints. Unfortunately I think I was nearing an audience of 12 so I kept going (3 deaths, 4.5 hours to finish the solo campaign).
The Mansions of Madness game after that was a blast... Well, I enjoyed it.
(sorry Ed)
I look forward to returning in a few months to pick up some models and display my finished models on the battlefield.
I'm really going to miss Battleground.

Good luck, Jason!!
I look forward to your return, whenever and however brief it may be. :)
