Title: WIP FW Keeper
Post by: Rhys on January 03, 2012, 11:57:19 AM
Started painting my keeper. I just basecoated her legging and glove and started blending her skin. I know the picture is not the best, I'll put up some better ones when I get a chance. As usual, advice and tips appreciated!

Btw, someone at battleground paint night recommended raphael kolinsky 8404, I picked some up and they are great! I'm sorry I don't remember who recommended them but thank you all the same.

Lol we'll see how ballsy I feel when I get there. Her stupid skin takes forever to do, I'd hate to ruin it... I do like the idea though, maybe I'll give her a bunch of tats

Again, exceedingly well done! Great job keeping the paint so smooth and even over such a large model.

Thanks again merc, her skin takes forever to do so I'm glad its coming out well. Unfortunately, I won't be adding any more pictures to this thread until after her unveiling at the tourney on the 22nd.

Sad thing is thanks to my previous job I found myself trying to guess what store's circular the latest pictures were taken on and critiquing it.

Man I need to block that part of my life out.

If/ When you do get one can you tell me what kind it is and how it works out? I have heard good/ bad things about citadel's spray gun but i want to see if there are any other good ones.

Here is the one I have and it works great, and quiet and worked out really nicely on my Thunder Lizard Project.

And it did not hit my wallet very hard at all for what you get.

Yea i was thinking about getting one but off the bat your paying $45 for GWs plus another $10 for every can of the cheap propellent you get, but thanks i might have tpo look into getting this.

Better to save for the compressor if you can, those cans lose pressure as you use them making the consistency of your airbrush difficult to gauge, with the compressor you get constant pressure ;)

Cheers,

+1 to getting a compressor.  You can get a decent one for about $90-100.  If you plan on using the airbrush often, then it's worth the investment.
