Any interest over in plainville at all? (or anywhere). I heard bill had a demo set up for the one year event and two people tried demoing the game in Abington but they showed up at a very slow time of day and basically played each other and left...
The game (like malifaux... Ugh) has a lot of interesting ideas and rules to keep interest, if there was a solid player pool or interest pool to start. If anyone has anything to add or has interest let me know please.
-
<--- In plainville Has Interest.
-
Some of the Dark Star guys play it. If / when one of them sees this I'm sure they'll post something.
-
Swag ^ I'm hoping Abington could get it going... Plainville is so far.
-
It looks like a cool game but do you know how much $$ it takes to get a solid army up. Like are we talking malifaux range where you could get one up for under $100 or more like warmachine or dare I say it... 40K. I'm in abington so yea that's all.
-
Models are about what a blister costs ($10-20). The game seems to work with about 6-10 models so from $60-$200 is a price range, depending on the model in question. Probablly about $150, which is very sound pricing for a skirmish scale game.
-
Yea with that in mind i would not mind getting into it but i would have to see how the game works (rules etc), because i only have a small paper route for my income :P, and with 40K i really would like to see a demo game/ see if a few more people want to play before i consider playing. But it does look like a cool game.
-
I'm sure when a darkstar guy (the little aliens from space jam?) comment they could clarify... But if it helps anymore... I checked msrp for some models I wanted:
Shaasvatii shrouded sniper $10.46 x2
Shaasvatii Cadmus $11.81 x2
Shaasvatii noctifiers with missiles $13.84 x2
Shaasvatii noctifiers with gun $13.84
Avatar $55.01
So yes you can play for well under $100, and the avatar is the frigging huge model of the line, to give scale of price.
7 dudes/orders = <$85, pretty sweet.
-
Site Has Quick Rules up which if your interested in it are worth taking a Look at.
Definitely a Different style of play compared to 40k and War/Hordes and I like it.

I'm in Plainville as well and i'm interested
the concept seems scaled down from 40k to battles between fire teams
i need to look over the rules a lot more before picking an army but on aesthetics alone i like the look of the Pan Oceania and Nomads
-
cool. seems interesting
-
I would be interested, I would play in Abington; I already have some PanO models. The biggest problem for this game is terrain. I was looking at making paper terrain for my own use at my house.
To play you really want 8-10 models; this will get you the amount of orders you need to really be able to do something. From the rules I have read so far it seems like if you try to go totally on the offensive you will lose very fast. This game seem to be a very tactical squad based game.
You can download the full rules on there site, form the link below.

There is a fair amount of interest in this in Plainville. Fortunately, I've recently found out that Alliance carries the product line.
I plan to pick up some rule books and starters next week.
-
Infinity take a ton of terrain; and most 40k terrain is not usable. Terrain also plays a huge part in this game and is as important as your army list. I also need a copy of Human Sphere.
Here are a few picture of some tables:
-
I like some of the mechanics from the little bit of rules i've read for infinity, when a unit runs around a corner for example there are reactive attacks and such which is a little more lifelike than 40k
but according to what assuran is saying above we would need some cityscapes or urban terrain to make it work
-
Here are two more. I also know John Grogan was interested in playing and has a few models.
The terrain is the biggest stopping block for most people; many people use paper terrain for the game and they even have a section on the official forums dedicated to it. The terrain density is so high, that the only thing close to it I have seen is Necromunda.
Here are two more pics:

Been awhile since I've been up the store,
but here's a board I built out of foam core and foamed pvc.
Still needs detailing, but it works

The containers and dumpsters are paper terrain
-
I have to admit, I have hobby-envy over those tables. Crisp, clean aesthetics are a nice change of pace from the grim darkness.
-
i'm a lot more interested now.
-
I'm super into this it looks awesome!
-
I guess you could call me one of the Dark Star guys :)
There are a couple of us crazies who LOOOVE this game, been playing since it came out. I havent played in a year or so, but I'm definitely interested in starting up again.
We've done a couple of tables so far, a Yu Jing city table and an "African" savannah table.
I can't dig up any pictures of the city, but I was able to track down our savannah table..

It looks like a lot of fun, Nick Hough and I are interested in abington, because we have no games going on really...
-
does abington have the rulebook/ any starter boxes?
-
rules are online for free, and... not yet... ::)
-
I managed to miss this thread completely somehow. Yeah I am absolutely interested and have a painted starter box of ALEPH. If people started throwing the ole d20 around I would dust em off.
PS: Chase, I'm still waiting for my bag of pink D20s I ordered.
-
Hi all! New to the area but I picked up the rule book and a starter box down in Virginia. Would also throw my hat in the ring!
-
Hey there... So I picked up the rules and a Yu Jing Japanese Sectoral Box set and started painting last night...
Here is the Box picture:

I'm torn on which army I would build... both are very polar opposite factions.
Either Combined Army, focusing on the El... or Nomads, Bakunin specifically, heh.
Crazy insane aliens bent on modifying / implanting whatever they can with the El... or religious focused army bent on being the only line of defense between humans and "sin", be it aliens, AI, or other.
Both sets of models look amazing to me.
-
looks like (from what i can see on the box) that they don't focus alot on basing
-
Heh... don't go to their site and look at Combined Army models then... ;)
-
Yeah I am torn now again....I like the big mech models of Pan, but love the Japanese of Yu Jing, and then the sexy sleek of Aleph. Hmmmmm.... I think I will need to play a game first and see what I like.
-
Seems like basing is usually a future city type style base... In the book you see an Bank ATM in most pictures LOL.
-
I'm in.... that is all you need to know to be down with this game.
-
Has anyone played any games yet?
-
I heard a bunch of people in Plainville bought pieces but I haven't heard of any games actually being played.
-
The last game I played was at the Plainville one year anniversary thing.
I am definitely interested in this, I would play Ariadnna.
-
hey guys Im thinkin of grabbing some models and will be back up around the end of august, jsut as an idea though who has what army atm?
-
Anyone have a good set of pictures for an Infinity Table I know an AVG game is on a 4x4 but any size would be fine.
-
Here is a table that show rought terrain density and some decent terrain.

+1 for the first picture with Blade Runner in the bottom right.
-
I know a few people in Arlington were going to pick up some models, would anyone want to get a few learning games in? I could play at either store.
-
Loving the models (Combined Army has my eye) but reading the rules on my laptop is burning my eyes so I would love to know if someone is willing to show me the rulebook and a demo at either store.
-
I will be in Abington Thursday night, you can look at the rule book then.
-
Do you have an idea what time 'Thursday night' you'll be around?
-
Probably 5:30 till 11 or 12.
I will also bring a few of my models if anyone want to get in a small 100 or 150 point learning game.
-
Sorry, couldn't stay late - had D&D with friends and was already holding everyone up at 5. >.< When would you be available for me to see you and at which store?
-
Next Wednesday or Thursday, not sure what store. I will let you know.
I am probably also going to pickup a second force so I can do Demo Games.
-
Is that Chris Curtin? Teach me how to crush with my knights and ninjas bro.
-
I can play an intro game this Thursday probably; not sure what store I will get to this week.
-
Dave or anyone else interested I can do some small intro games in Abington this Saturday if you want.
-
I will be in Abington on Thursday 9/13; I will probably play a demo game for anyone that wants.
-
if i had the spare funds ide totaly get the ninjas! is this some sort of Skirmish game?
-
Yes it is a skirmish game. it play like you would expect sci-fi city fighting to be, fast and very deadly. The game is very tactical and not about fine tuning a list to get the good results; msot models are playable and almost all have uses the excel at. It cost about $90-$150 for a full force, the rules are free online; the game also has a wiki that is maintained by the company to help with rules questions, and for very fast reference.

Infinity has a new campaign book coming out soon, and I would be looking for 3 or 7 other players to play it.
-
Any links to what the models look like available?

-
I will be in Abington tonight around 5:30.
-
Saw a short game of this the other day in Abington, looks pretty sick. Would still like to try and get into it if other people want to too.
-
Who, what, when, where? Damn it is really hard for me to watch these games. >:(
