Title: Regarding Repeating Triggers
Post by: draxous on May 02, 2009, 03:06:21 AM
Lets say the following conditions occur...

(1) Dragon has Tail Swipe (Conditions) (Immediate Interrupt)
       -Dragon Becomes Flanked
      Reaction
-Dragon attacks with tail (free) and knocks target back
(2) Fighter Mark (Conditions)(Immediate Interrupt)
-You are not the target of an attack or enemy moves out of your adjacent sqaure
      Reaction
-Free Melee Basic Attack (or assigned ability)
(3) Item or Class Reaction to being attacked (Free Action - Reaction) or Move action
     - Then decides to re-flank dragon

In this sense this could be a never ending repeating chain. There are a great deal more similar situations as well.

My Solution?
So far would be to do an initiative check or dexterity check of some type winner takes reaction.

Any Suggestions?

the events resolve like this in that situation:

1- Fighter's interrupt goes first
2- The dragon's tail swipe next
3- Reaction powers

Interrupts do exactly that Interrupt any and all actions that are taking place, if an interrupt interrupts another one the most rescent one goes first. Reactions only happen AFTER any action that triggered them. Also if an interrupt actually kills something in the middle of the action that action is ended, since the thing taking said action is now dead. And in regard to the never ending loop of actions, you can only take ONE Immediate action on a turn or when it is not your turn.
