Hey, guys!

The third season of the Northeastern Intramural Blood Bowl League is wrapping up and we’re setting our sights on season 4! The league is getting better every season and now’s your chance to join the mayhem!

NIBBL is a scheduled round robin Blood Bowl league. At the beginning of the season, a schedule will be randomly generated. Every week, your team will be paired against another coach’s. The two of you will meet up during that week to play your game and the results get entered into our fancy website. Over the course of the season, you’ll play every team once (twice, if the number of participants is lower). The teams with the best records at the end of the season will make it to the play offs and everyone else gets to play a consolation tournament. Teams can return to the league the following season to take another shot at glory!

There are a number of advantages to a scheduled league. It’s easier for some people to work around one game per week, the time commitment is very low, no one can “farm” games to make a powerful team quickly, skill choices become much more interesting, and there’s no way to duck bad match ups!

By far the best part about scheduled leagues is the excitement they generate. Looking forward to that match all week makes playing infinitely more fun. This has led to coaches posting backstories for players, making logos, writing player interviews, and some exceptional trash talking. The schedule also makes it feel more like an NFL mirror which is fun, too!

A scheduled league has a lot of great things going for it, but player commitment is absolutely necessary for it to work. Though the weekly time commitment is about 3 hours, the season lasts for several months. Any team leaving midseason presents the remaining players with a difficult situation. Some players will have more games played than others, the schedule will need to be redone, etc. It’s a bad time for everyone.

If you are interested in playing, keep in mind that changing your mind will be EXTREMELY disruptive to your friends. So disruptive that if a player bails during the season (without good reason, of course), they won’t be allowed to play in future NIBBL seasons. If one game per week for 3 or 4 months might be something you’d lose interest in, this isn’t the league for you.

(Most of the league is organized via the NIBBL facebook group, which you can find here:

Let us know if you want to play! There’s no entry fee, so posting your player name, team name, and team type here or in the facebook group is enough. We’ll be accepting entries up to one week before the season starts. That means June 5th is the last day for signing up!

The facebook group also has a few files you should take a look at. The NIBBL Rules Packet covers team creation, allowed teams (there are a few new ones!), and more mundane things like appropriate models and sportsmanship. Our handy website is used to track each team, letting us really look at stats and never worry about misplaced sheets!

Well, thanks for taking the time to read this long winded post! Hopefully I’ll see you on the pitch!

After the first round, players will be matched up according to current rankings in the tournament (based on the number of points they've scored) e.g., the player in first place will play the player in second place and so on. We will try our best not to pair players that come to the event together or regularly play each other in the first round. If a player receives a BYE they will be awarded max points.

The time limit for each game is 2 hours and players will have 15 minutes to deploy their armies. At the end of this time limit, the round will be called; players will need to finish the round as quickly as possible.

I can't seem to post pics here but I have a Facebook group where you can see plenty.
Hi All,

I've invented a table top game that needs playtesters.

It's a new tabletop game that pits you against the other player(s) in a race through space to collect Treasures and be the first one to complete your Adventure. A family game for 2-4 players.

You and the other Players build the game board as you go, sending your Ships to various Planets and collecting Treasures. When you have accumulated enough Treasures, you Pay to add to your adventure story. The first Player to complete his/her adventure wins!

The game components are 140 hex cards, dice, counters and mini spaceships.
