Looking for players for Godlike Campaign
« on: August 21, 2010, 09:17:11 PM »
I'm planning on starting a Godlike campaign in the near future, and I'm looking for players.

"It was June 8th, 1936 the opening ceremonies of the Olympic Summer Games in Berlin, and nothing would ever be the same agin. The audience was stunned into awestruck silence as a man clad in a black fight suit with a swastika emblazoned on his chest, flew three lazy circuits over the Olympic stadium, and landed and lit the Olympic Torch. This phenomenon was introduced to the crowd by an ecstatic Adolf Hitler as "Der Flieger" (The Airman) and during his opening speech he remarked:

'So it has come to pass, Germany has shown the world that only through purity of blood, strength and deed and fortitude of spirit, can man to strive to become one with the Gods'.

The crowd was awed and thrilled and cheered wildly for for this new Super Human. They could see it was the future that stood before them.

If they new the truth of what was going to happen in the years ahead, they would have wept.

It was the dawn of the Super Age, and nothing would ever be the same again."

Godlike is a game of alternate history. It is a world where, in 1936 at the dawn of the human race's darkest chapter, men and women with unexplainable super human powers begin to appear. First in Germany, and then as war overtakes the world, in Ethiopia and Poland, Finland and Denmark, Belgium and France, England and The Soviet Union, and Finally in the United States. These parahumans, known to the English and Americans as Talents and to the Germans as Ubermenschen, are seen as ultimate weapon for world conquest, and the only hope to stop it.

In Godlike the players take the role of American and Allied talents fighting with the OSS and SOE against the might of Nazi Germany, and their dreaded SS Uberkommandos while the fate of the world hangs in the balance.

"Ok, listen up recruits. This is not comic books. No tights, capes or alter-egos (capes just attract sniper - and make you look like an ass too). Sure you might be able to bend reality to your will and shoot bolts of plasma from your hands, reducing enemy Panzers to molten slag, but nothing prevents you from stepping on a land mine and having your legs blown off like PVT Adams did back on Utah Beach. Guess he should of kept flying, flak or no. Or getting shot through the head by a stray MG42 round while levitating an assault gun over your head. At least CPL Vincent was dead before the StuG IIII fell and squashed him. You get the point. Sure being a Talent makes you tough and dangerous. But it also makes you a target, and pretty much guarantees you're going to be sent where the fighting is the thickest. Oh, and lets not forget, the damn Krauts have Talents do. Lots of of lousy, goose stepping, Heil Hitlering, Aryan Super-Krauts. The only thing worse than some damned blond haired, blue eyed fanatic SS lunatic, is one that can turn your bones to molten lead just by looking at you. Welcome to the war men, and God have mercy on your souls. You're gonna need it."

Like WW2? Killing Nazis? Superpowers? Getting shot a lot? Godlike may be the game for you!
