That 'nids v ork game sounds like and interesting match.  But alas I was not able to see, stupid work!
I believe the Tervigons spawned something like 45 Gaunts pretty early on. So the Tyranids quickly outnumbered the Orks, which was not the easiest thing to do.

Thanks again Ben, had a good time that game, think my list worked well though clearly identified some weaknesses with my assualt game (which is probably party due to the fact i forgot about hammerhand for most of the game lol)

You'll need a check-list of powers to remember, and it'll get (war)hammered in Pavlov style.
"Assault Phase." "HAMMERHAND!"

Daemons do assault really, really well. It's not a GK weakness, so much as the Daemons' sole strength. As it is, Grey Knights do assault quite well and bring lots of power/force weapons to carve through armor, along some of the best grenades in the game. This is one reason I'm thinking your next opponent should probably be a Marines or MEQ (Marine equivalent) player. There's alot of nuance to the Assault Phase as well, half of which extends back to the previous phases. If I learned it all, you can!

You may want to draw up a smaller list for quicker games, at least until you get the numbers and dice down pat. See what you can come up in the next couple weeks for 1500 points. I know, it takes some of the fun units out, but the match will be shorter than a Red Sox-Yankees game.

Who's up for some guard squashing on Thursday?  I'm going to double check when I'm at work to make sure, but looks like I'll be off Friday morning (I work 11p-X in the morning) which means I should make it up this week.

Grrrrrr....!  Good news, bad news time.  Good news is that I'm finally going to get my finger looked at (it's been infected for about a week).  Bad news is that the only time I could get an appointment is for today, so I had to change my day off.. means I might not be making it up on Thursday now!   :'(

At least you're making the right call. Take care of that finger.

Anyone want to step in with a joke here? It's a pretty good set-up.

So tempting, but I don't think I know you guys well enough to make that kind of a joke yet. :P

At any rate, I'm planning on being in town the week of the 18th, and was planning on coming down to Plainville that Thursday.  Would anyone be interested in doing an Apocalypse game?  Been a long time since the Megabattle, and I'm itching for some 4K+ type games.  Let me know if anyone's interested, and maybe we can get a few tables set up for something.

Thanks!

The 22nd may be a bit busy being the start of the Vogen League Campaign (*hint hint to others*), but I'm pretty sure we can get you set up with something.

Man, I really liked the vibe in the store tonight. It was loose, it was fun, reminded me why I put the effort in.

Blood Angels vs Tau
Orks vs Space Marines
Blood Angels vs Imperial Guard

Then there were two 500 point games I got to play...
Daemons vs Orks
Daemons vs Tau

The first game excluded HQ units and was meant as a refresher. The second game was full-on 500 and it is noted that Fateweaver hates Tau with a passion.

4x4" is I admit a pretty good size, and I got some solid ideas about the 500 tournament.

I am going to be in tomorrow for a little bit. I am looking to get in some games with my tau. Would any one be interested in a 500 point game? i will probably be able to fit in at least two of them. My army is wysiwyg, except that i have a tyranid warrior standing in for a suit >=( stupid GW grumble. I can do 1000 points, but that will involve a few more proxies, and while id live to get in a 1000 point game, i know that know one wants to play with proxies, so i wont push my luck. Any takers for 500 points?

Emory, I think Brian will be around and he's got 500 points of Orks to play with now. I've always got 500 of Daemons in various combinations as well.

Jason, don't know who you might play at the moment, but I'm still sure we can find someone for you to beat up on.

And Benshin is looking for a 4000 point game next week! Anyone not in the campaign interested in that madness? :D

Any particular time you'll be available or available until? You're usually there before I am. Pretty sure you'll be able to get a 2k game in.

2 great games tonight

Brian's orks out up a good fight, but ended up getting out assaulted by the tau (wait, what?)

Pats salamanders managed to take out ~200 points in turn 1 with 2 orbital bombardments. However, the tau were able to claw them selves back into an even game, one that saw a devil fish fly across the board and ping uselessly off a rhino, survive assault by two (!?!?!?) chapter masters (at 500 points) and then flat out again to tank shock a tactical squad, who failed moral, and were escorted off the board, then the poor two fire warriors stumbled out onto the objective with a chronic case of car sickness.

long story short... TANKS ARE COOL!!!

thanks both of you for the great games!
