I found it interesting; it's a great illustration that fluff can be found to justify most anything.  if I were to GUESS, I suspect GW will/would FAQ it to say they don't take the hits, but honestly I think taking the hits is certainly justifiable in the rules.  As long as we have a ruling, though, I'm comfortable either way.
