For gear is it the normal character creation above first level?  In this situation it would equate to one 4th level item, one 3rd, and one item under 3rd.

This week every player involved had never built a character before.  I spent the better part of the day helping 5 new players build level 3 characters from scratch.  The event itself did not take place.

At about 6pm, when creation finished, several of them decided to give a few 1v1's a shot.  I am lead to believe that Paul Cerra's Orc (Half Orc?) Barbarian won 2 or 3 matches including a 2v1 against an Elf Ranger (Devon Grogan) and a Shifter Invoker (Josh Cerra).  I am really not sure what went on after character creation.  Cookie had a hand in building the Barbarian and also refereed the games.

I will say that the Ranger and Invoker were anything but min-maxed sporting 16's in their primary stat, little to no magic items for some reason, and who knows what for powers.  The players seemed more interested in building what they thought were well rounded characters vs. Arena monsters, which is fine the first time around.

On the whole, everyone learned a lot.

Woke up late for the event. Sounds like I could have helped out even showing up an hour late.

I heard for a little birdie that the barbarian got a 22 move charge.  That does sound like cookie math, but it does not sound like lvl 3 movement.
