Tons of Orks and a Space Wolf appearance?  Cool!

Even an Imperial Guard player too. Unusual night, but I was very happy with it.

Hmmmm someone else foolish enough to play guard?  I might have to try and set up a game with him!

Imperial Guard are really good. But Plainville doesn't have a dedicated "IG guy" who's played them a long time and can help out other IG players. My expertise is (5 guys + 2 melta + 1 chimera) x as many as you can fit + heavy weapons = list win.

Ten guys with three meltaguns. Or ten guys with one meltagun and maybe one guy with a heavy if you're going for armor saturation. IG don't take five-man squads (with the exception of Storm Troopers, who, if they're taken at all, generally DS).

See, that's why we need an IG guy... who's not moving soon.

Ive honestly though about it ben since my army lists lean towards shooting vs assault anyway. maybe the allies thing in 6th ed will be the push for me to buy some IG... I do like tanks

I'm willing to step up to the challenge as well.  No need for me to buy guard, I've got plenty plenty plenty of guard.. both built and unbuilt!

Alright after a boring day at the fire station and using said boring day to look up IG stuff online i kinda want a mech IG army now, put in a couple Deathstrike and Manticore missles launchers that look like TONS of Orcish nonsensical fun and paint the whole army red with a mother Russia theme.

I blame Ben for this, he's a bad influence on my debit card

I suppose i should probably wait a week and see what 6th edition is going to do to IG first before i buy a new or used IG army lock stock and barrel... (pun intended)

This whole "allies" thing might end up being absolutely amazing for the game in every respect.

I really, really hope they've done done a great job with it and that it doesn't flush some of the "fluff" down the drain.

I'm super interested to read the boards after people get a chance to digest what it all means. ;)

It is going to be interesting to see how this will play out.  I have a feeling it will be utterly broken.

I am making the call now, the top tournament armies are all going to be running GK with IG allies....

I disagree with this I think IG mech is going to get a HUGE hit possibly. The way they are talking about removing the randomness of the Damage Vehicle Chart and making it Hull Points I think a Majority of IG Mech is going to be rather Fragile to make up for the number they can put out.

I am excited I think Land Raiders are going to make a Comeback since they won't be so random. It will take more than One Melta to take them out so if you have one on the field its going to attract a lot more firepower than 1 or 2 melta guns to take it down.
I ride in on my Bike with my Hat of awesome and say Nay this place should be on fire.
