So my girlfriend and I went to a comic book store today and found they were selling a bunch of heroclix miniatures really cheap. We're both big Marvel/DC fans so we thought that a miniatures game based on them is pretty cool concept and something we'd both enjoy playing (I'm more of a marvel guy she's into DC). The thing is though we know basically nothing about the game, I'm not sure its even being made anymore. They didn't have any starter sets or rulebooks and not many of the figures came with their power cards. I'm sure perusing the interwebs could remedy our lack of rules and cards though.
So I was wondering has anyone played this before and is it any good? If we pick up some figures we could totally come down to plainsville sometime and play, perhaps learn from someone who knows the ropes if anyone's interested. The store was selling them for $1 a piece so I figure it would be an easy thing to get into with such a small monetary investment. (I'm also secretly hoping that this would be a sort of gateway drug for my girlfriend to get into miniature games and rpg's hahaha.)
So yeah if anyone knows anything about the game or would be willing to teach us, your input would be greatly appreciated
