Ok, this spammer is a real $&%$#^ing $&^&#*#!! Is there no way you can just ban spammers? If not, then the website should have an option for the spammer handlers to ban them.

If there was a way for a forum to know if it's a spammer signing up, forum spam wouldn't exist.

I don't mean that the website itself should be able to detect a spammer, I mean that Derek and Chase should have a "ban-hammer" of sorts. I know these things exist on many other forums and websites etc. etc. etc. It would just be nice if they could simply ban people for "spammer type" posts.

I've probably banned close to 100 "people" and deleted their accounts in the last 7 days.  Matt has banned quite a few as well.  I'm sure Derek has owned plenty of fools too.

We do our best.  I still refuse to "approve" people before they can post on our boards.  If the spam keeps up I may change my mind.

I've banned over 900 spam accounts since Friday. Some were old.

It hasn't done any good though. They are creating something like 20-30 accounts per day. Some post spam and some do nothing.

Young nerdlings would likely abuse the "power" / cause drama / accidentally ban everyone who has registered with a gmail account.  ;)
