Announcing ‘Netrunner’ 2014 Championship Event

Players, Battleground Games & Hobbies is the proud host of Fantasy Flight’s 2014 Store Championship tournaments! Running through March, these prestigious local tournaments are your first chance to test the waters of the 2014 tournament calendar, meet other local players, vie for bragging rights, and compete for cool, exclusive prizes. Battleground Games & Hobbies is one of just a few stores in the region hosting events. Be sure to join us!
Format: Standard, as outlined here.
Date: March 15th, 2014
Time: Round 1 begins at 12:00pm, Doors open at 10:00am, Registration begins at 11:00am

The tournaments will follow the standard Fantasy Flight tournament rules.
Each round will last 65 minutes.
The number of rounds will be based on turnout. There will not be a cut followed by single elimination rounds.
Swiss pairings (each player will play in every round if they would like, barring byes).
Each player must bring 1 Corporation and 1 Runner deck in accordance with the Deck Restriction rules found here (page 2).
Prizes will look like:
Champion: Store Championship Plaque; Deck Box; first place certificate worth a first round bye at one of the 2014 Regional Championships.
Runner Up: Deck Box
Top 4: Custom “Top 4” playmat
Everyone: Alternate art cards with full-bleed graphic design (for the first 32 players).
Additional prizes may be awarded based on turnout.

Ticket to Ride 10th Anniversary Edition

According to news website ICv2.com, Days of Wonder has announced a new version of its best selling train adventure board game, Ticket to Ride 10th Anniversary Edition, for release in June. Check it out!
Designed by Alan R. Moon, Ticket to Ride has sold over three million copies since it was introduced in 2004. The new edition will be packaged in an oversize game box with new art, and includes a giant U.S. board map that is 50% larger than the original, which also features new illustrations and design. The five sets of plastic trains will each have a different type of train car and unique paint scheme, which can be stored in tin train storage boxes unique to each rail line. The box will also include 110 large format Train cards, 69 Destination Tickets (which include both the original US map tickets plus those from the USA 1910 expansion), and a multi-lingual rulebook.
The game is for 2 – 5 players, ages 8 and up, and plays in 45 minutes. If you’re a fan of this amazing game, this is a collectible you won’t want to miss out on!
