It was out last year.  It's out this year.  It's out for good reason.  End of story.

Why is this message board FULL of crying lately?  Jeez.

It seems impossible to post an event without people complaining about something.  The rules are posted.  If people dislike them, that's fine.  If they're unclear, that's fine too.  We're playing a game folks!

Allright, I get the message.  No more rules inquiries on the forum.

Two years ago they offered extra points for ramming, hence the extra battlewagons. And I know it's been said there was no ramming last year, except there was in abington >.> I didn't know that was off. Two battlewagons ranked second and third, behind a shadowsword.

Also, super heavies got harder to kill by standard tanks thanks to the way hull points are calculated. (I'm not being dumb about that, yes? 9 hull points for most baneblade classes, lose 1 to a pen and another to a 6 result on the chart?). Granted most of those tanks have just a high strength template now, with the exception of the shadowsword which will probably clean house this year.

I don't know, I feel like Ramming really isn't that big of a deal. And I was planning on bringing a hammerhead.

Chase,

One thing I would recommend, based on last year, is to have Super Heavies based on a different scale than the "normal" tanks (maybe non-super heavies have their scores multiplied by 2 or something).  At least in Planeville last year, the two super heavies racked up an insane amount of points that none of the normal tanks could touch.

Towards the end of 5th, everything had been FAQ'd the veterans finally had all the answers to all the questions.

6th edition is still (relatively) new and way, way more codex's have been coming out, and GW hasn't FAQ'd anything (significant) in like 6 months.  There's a LOT more known unknowns.

That's probably the reason for all the angst across the board to be honest. There's a high level of uncertainty to a lot of the new rules so people are unsure how to react.

Barring any unforeseen setbacks, Steve Riley will be running TANKSgiving in Abington.

I didn't think that you were singling me out.  I just mean, I may be unhappy about the state of the rules, but continually pestering people who aren't prepared to figure out how to fix it may not be all that helpful :)

It has a magna-melta cannon. You guys have no imagination. 5 inch AOE, can't be shot by most other tanks.  8)

So I should bring the Pylon instead of the Phantom?

yup my shadowsword, since its the only time i get to run it. And we dint get points for ramming last year up in abington but since it was our group, we rammed anyways because it was fun, or because weapons got destroyed, or in some cases, people couldnt hit. And i think we boxed someone in between a battlewagon and a baneblade. cant remember who.

Per the new Apoc rulebook, it's as much of a tank as a Baneblade is. You guys seem to have extra requirements though, so would be "immobile" stop it from being considered a tank for this event?

All things that are tanks have the "tank" special rule.

Does the pylon have that subtype / special rule?

The baneblade doesn't.

They're defined as "super heavy vehicles" with no mention of the tank rule. That would be why I'm asking if we're going to treat the Pylon as a tank, it has the same type as the baneblade.
