Paizo Publishing Announces ‘Pathfinder Unchained’

According to hobby channel news website ICv2.com, Paizo Publishing will release Pathfinder Unchained, a 256-page hardcover of optional rules that change some of the fundamentals of the Pathfinder RPG, in April 2015. Among the optional rules will be redesigned barbarian, monk, rogue, and summoner classes; a new action economy; new ways of designing monsters and treasure on the fly; a new resource pool for martial characters; and a new system for modifying spells with powerful spell components.
Players can pick and choose the systems they want to change in their game, from minimal changes to a new play experience.
Could this be part of a potential “answer” to Wizards of the Coast’s brand new D&D Next?

Evil Hat Productions to Release New Deck Building Game

Evil Hat Productions will release the deck building card game Zeppelin Attack! in August, according to news website ICv2.com.
Designed by Eric B. Vogel (Cambria) and based in the world of Evil Hat’s Spirit of the Century pulp RPG, the game has players take the roll of villainous masterminds (Gorilla Khan, Jacqueline Frost, Der Blitzmann, or the Walking Mind) out to conquer the world. The goal is to destroy all rival criminal overlords by deploying a zeppelin fleet, commanding minions, and utilizing strange defenses.

The box contains 112 cards (4 start decks of 13 cards, 6 mercenary operations zeppelins, 6 mercenary attack zeppelins, 8 mercenary attack cards, 6 mercenary defense cards, 8 mercenary operative cards, and 26 fate cards) and a rule book. The game is for 2-4 players, ages 12 and up, and plays in 45 – 60 minutes.
The game was financed by a Kickstarter campaign in February, which raised $35,524 from 1,200 backers ($29.60 / backer average).

Magic 2015 Pre-release Begins TONIGHT at MIDNIGHT!

The Core Set 2015 Prerelease presents players with a special opportunity to open a Prerelease Pack. There are five Prerelease Packs to choose from; each corresponds to a one of the five colors in Magic: White, Blue, Black, Red, and Green.
If players would like to be guaranteed a specific Core Set 2015 Prerelease Pack they MUST preregister for the event they would like to participate in. Call ahead or contact us.

What Do I Get?
Prizes are based on attendance. There will be 2 booster packs per player put into the prize pool. Prizes packs are typically awarded to the top 35% of finishers.
Each Player will receive one Core Set 2015 Prerelease Pack that contains:
5 Core Set 2015 booster packs
1 Seeded booster pack*
1 Premium promo card
1 Activity card
1 Spindown life counter
1 Welcome Letter
For this event, players may use the promo card included with the Prerelease Pack in their tournament deck.
*Contains cards from the Core Set that are or have synergy with the color you chose.
What Else Can I Do?
Open Dueling: Open Dueling players each receive 1 Core Set 2015 Intro Pack. Open Dueling players use their Intro Pack to play against each other, as well as Prerelease tournament players who are between matches. All players should be encouraged to help teach Open Dueling participants how to play Magic.

Use your Commander decks with your friends!

WizKids Announces Update to ‘Attack Wing: D&D’

Last week, WizKids (Heroclix) updated its solicitation information for the second wave expansions for their highly anticipated miniatures game Attack Wing: D&D, according to hobby news website ICv2.com.

All three releases were previously listed as releasing on December third. However, now they are moved to a November fifth release. Configuration and pricing for both the Black Shadow Dragon and Movanic Deva Angel Expansion Packs will remain the same, but the Aarakocra Expansion Pack will now contain a troop of six miniatures. instead.
The first Attack Wing: D&D releases will appear in October and will be coming to a Battleground Games & Hobbies near you!

Magic 2015 Clash Pack Deck Lists Revealed

Wizards of the Coast released yesterday (click the link to view the deck lists) the contents and release schedule of the new Clash Pack – a new, two-player product containing two, preconstructed decks. Clash Packs will now alternate release with the popular Event Decks. For example, Magic 2015 – the release events of which is this weekend – will feature the Clash Pack, while Khans of Tarkir (due out this fall) will return to the Event Deck.
In addition, the following alternate are foil cards are likewise revealed:

‘7 Wonders’ Designer Announces New Board Game: ‘Samurai Spirit’

Funforge, which is distributed by Passport Games in North America, will release the new cooperative board game Samurai Spirit, which will have a preview at Gen Con, according to hobby news website ICv2.com.
Designed by Antoine Bauza (7 Wonders, Hanabi), players take the roles of members of a samurai squad cooperatively defending a farming village from bandits. Each samurai has a unique beast essence which is invoked as fighting intensifies, but that quality also bring the samurai closer to death while increasing their power. Over the course of three turns, players must decide if they will battle bandits, defend the village, or help other samurai. In the end, the village must have at least one undamaged farm with enough farmers to tend it for players to win.
MSRP and trade release for North America information were not announced. Funforge and Passport will preview the game at Gen Con.
