WizKids Releases Details for ‘Dungeons & Dragons: Icons of the Realms’

WizKids has released details on the next wave of their licensed Dungeons & Dragons: Icons of the Realms fantasy miniatures line. D&D Icons of the Realms Miniatures: Set 3 will release in August.
Set 3 includes 54 miniatures inspired by the D&D Forgotten Realms universe including monsters and heroes.
There are two product configurations: the Standard Booster and the Standard Booster 8 Ct. Brick. The blind-boxed boosters will contain four figures each (1 large, 3 medium or small figures), with an MSRP of $15.99. Each Booster Brick contains eight boosters (32 figures), and cases contain four bricks (32 boosters/128 figures).
The D&D Icons of the Realms Miniatures Set 3 White Dracolich is a case purchase incentive figure and will stand several inches tall, towering over other figures in the line. The White Dracolich is available as a one-per-case purchase while supplies last.

WizKids Announces New ‘X-Men’ Board Game for March

WizKids announced they will release the X-Men: Mutant Revolution strategy board game on March 18th.
Set in the aftermath of the Phoenix event, players take the role of one of four iconic mutants (Wolverine, Cyclops, Magneto, or Storm), and attempt to spread their unique visions of the future across the globe. Players recruit heroes and students, train their teams, and send them on missions, battling for the future of mutant-kind. Gameplay is based on Gale Force Nine’s Spartacus: A Game of Blood and Treachery.
The box contains 4 character figures, 24 dice, 269 custom tokens, 157 cards, 4 custom bidding dials, and a game board. The game is for 2-4 players, ages 14 and up.

WizKids to Produce ‘D&D’ Board Games Under License

WizKids has entered into a license agreement with Wizards of the Coast to publish a new Dungeons & Dragons Adventure System board game, with the first, currently untitled game planned for March release, according to news website ICv2.com.
WizKids posted a preorder sell sheet last month (which has since been removed) announcing details of D&D Adventure System Game #4. The game was touted as “(c)ontinuing the grand adventures of Wrath of Ashardalon, Castle Ravenloft, and The Legend of Drizzt,” which were all hot sellers in their day (Wrath of Ashardalon even made our Top 10.
The game will include multiple scenarios, quests and cooperative game play, and can also be combined with the contents of previous D&D Adventure System games. WotC Senior Manager of Dungeons & Dragons R&D Mike Mearls explained in an August interview with Clever Move that the rule set for future D&D board games will remain very similar. “That game system is very adaptable with different storylines,” Mearls said in the interview.
WizKids is not designing the game; the sales sheet states that “Wizards of the Coast… is designing and developing the game.”
The box will include 40 figures, 8 Hero cards, 4 Villain cards, 200 cards, 55 interlocking tiles, 4 double-sized interlocking tiles, 168 tokens, a 20-sided die, an adventure book and a rulebook. The game is for 1-5 players, ages 14 and up and plays in an hour. Release is planned for March 16th.

WizKids Announces Update to ‘Attack Wing: D&D’

Last week, WizKids (Heroclix) updated its solicitation information for the second wave expansions for their highly anticipated miniatures game Attack Wing: D&D, according to hobby news website ICv2.com.

All three releases were previously listed as releasing on December third. However, now they are moved to a November fifth release. Configuration and pricing for both the Black Shadow Dragon and Movanic Deva Angel Expansion Packs will remain the same, but the Aarakocra Expansion Pack will now contain a troop of six miniatures. instead.
The first Attack Wing: D&D releases will appear in October and will be coming to a Battleground Games & Hobbies near you!

WizKids Announces ‘DC HeroClix: War of Light’

WizKids has announced it will release DC HeroClix: War of Light–Alternate Color Lantern Packs for its collectible miniatures game HeroClix on September 24th, according to hobby industry news website ICv2.com.
The DC HeroClix: War of Light is part of the summer storyline event organized play, which begins in June. All the SKUs, with the exception of the Sinestro Corps War Scenario Packs which released in May, were OP exclusives, not for retail sale. The new Alternate Color Lantern Packs are a for-sale retail product.
The Lantern Packs come in an assortment case, which has six Lantern Packs total. The three packs are Red and Violet, Orange and Indigo, and Yellow and Blue. Each pack contains two Central Power Battery Resource Object (one of each color), and two sets of corresponding-colored Construct Special Objects.
