Stoneblade Entertainment Reveals ‘Ascension: Realms Unraveled’

Retailer news website ICv2.com reported that Stone Blade Entertainment, makers of the popular Ascension deck building game, will release a new standalone product for its Ascension line; Ascension: Realms Unraveled will release in Q2.

Realms Unraveled is a standalone game for 1 – 4 players, though it can be combined with other Ascension games to support up to 6 players.   This release introduces the first dual-faction Heroes to the game.  It includes new Multi-Unite cards to let players gain large rewards for playing several Heroes from the same faction in one turn.  There are also Transform cards that can create more powerful versions of cards.

Popular ‘Modern’ MTG Format Comes to Plainville!

Friday Night MODERN – Every Friday at Battleground Games & Hobbies in Plainville, MA.

 

Due to the explosion in popularity of the Modern format, the solid turnouts to our once a month Modern FNM, and demand from the community, Battleground’s Plainville location will be hosting Modern tournaments EVERY FRIDAY effective immediately.

 

This Friday, March 7th, at 7:15 there will be a Modern FNM to accompany the usual Standard FNM at 7:30.

 

The last Friday of each month will hold a $10.00 Win-a-Box tournament for both formats.

Betrayal at House on the Hill quickly builds suspense and excitement as players explore a haunted mansion of their own design, encountering spirits and frightening omens that foretell their fate. With an estimated one hour playing time, Betrayal at House on the Hill is ideal for parties, family gatherings or casual fun with friends.

 

Betrayal at House on the Hill is a tile game that allows players to build their own haunted house room by room, tile by tile, creating a new thrilling game board every time. The game is designed for three to six people, each of whom plays one of six possible characters.

Asmodee to Release ‘Dixit’ & ‘Seasons’ Expansions

Popular hobby industry news website ICv2.com reports that Asmodee plans to release expansions for Dixit and Seasons in 2014: Seasons: Path of Destiny will arrive in Q2, and Dixit: Daydreams will release in Q4.

Dixit: Daydreams won’t be released until Q4, and details are few.  The Spiel des Jahres winning  storytelling card game was designed by Jean-Louis Roubira, and Asmodee has already released three expansions and the series received a huge “TableTop Bump” after the game was featured on the first season of the show.

Seasons: Path of Destiny is the second expansion for Regis Bonnessee’s sorcerer battle game of cards and dice: Seasons.  This expansion adds new powers, enchantments and special abilities, and there will be new strategies for game play, tied to the new Die of Destiny.  The box contains 62 cards (42 Power cards, 10 Enchantment cards, 10 Replica Power cards), 30 tokens, 1 Die of Destiny and a rulebook.  The first edition printing will also include a special promo card.   As an expansion, it requires the base game to play.  The game is for 2 – 4 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 45 minutes.  The game will release in late April or early May.
